Business System Analyst



Overall Responsibilities:



The Business System Analyst. is a function of the Supply Chain Data Management Team (SCDM) supporting the DePuy Synthes companies. Our team supports the supply chain by ensuring the correct processes and tools are in place allowing the creation and maintenance of reliable data. Our team also engages with cross-functional teams to promote accurate business integration.Candidates applying for the Business Analyst role should be inquisitive, enjoy problem solving, be technically knowledgeable and be willing to support projects and new solutions as well as the operational daily business tasks. Ideally, they should understand the end to end supply chain so they can relate to the data and tasks that our business supports. They should have strong communication skills, enjoy analyzing data and help resolve issues.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Maintains material master data in accordance with the Master Data Management (MDM) policies and procedures.

  • Performs material structure and maintenance activities in support of the MDM service offerings.

  • Troubleshoots and resolves issues relative to material setup using established guidelines.

  • Develops proposed solutions for review/discussion with supervisor when problem is more complex or affects multiple processes across the department.

  • Completes requests within established timeframes and keeps requestor notified of status.

  • Ensures data accuracy, validity, and completeness in results.

  • Contacts stakeholders to request additional information and to verify material master data.

  • Provides reviews/updates of material setup process.

  • Liaison with off-shore data maintenance provider; insuring accurate and timely task completion. Discover and promote new opportunities.

  • Create and maintain SOP’s, Work Instructions and Process Documentation.

  • Participates on projects as required and assigned by management.

  • Plan, launch and promote the SCDM (Supply Chain Data Maintenance) Framework, which includes the Department Data Lead networks within our business.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to map out business processes and ensure that data ownership and related procedures are in place to manage data creation and maintenance.

  • Encourage the sharing of knowledge across the supply chain with the goal to make processes clearer, more efficient and controlled.

  • Improve collection and reporting of SCDM Global Operation Metrics.

  • Create buy in for change for data projects with senior management, develop training materials and deliver training as needed across multiple functional areas.


Qualifications



  • Bachelors degree, ideally in Supply Chain or     Business Systems

  • Good understanding of ERP and PLM systems

  • Knowledge of additional languages is beneficial

  • 2 - 4 years of relevant experience within master data or similar supply chain area

  • Experience in regulated business environments a plus

  • Experience with SAP systems is desirable

  • Key User experience or project roll out experience involving EPR/PLM project implementation

Interpersonal skills / characteristics:

  • Collaborative, strong team player with developed networking skills

  • Good communicator with ability to train others and develop processes

  • Independent, structured, determined, reliable and quality orientated

  • Cross-functional thinking

  • Good understanding of how the Supply Chain works end to end

  • Data Analytics involving Quality systems experience is a plus

  • Knowledge of Lean/Continuous improvement practices a plus

  • Business fluency in English is required and German is plus; knowledge of other languages is beneficial.
