Main duties
This is a team player role within the Group Connectivity Program whose mission is to drive the digitalization of the business using telemetry. Selecta has an estate of over 450,000 machines and is in the process of retro-fitting and upgrading a substantial portion of these with real-time telemetry which is enabling us to transform our business. It is a large undertaking involving multi-disciplinary teams across Europe. You will be sitting in the middle of this and helping make it all work. The program offers a can-do culture providing a relatively high degree of autonomy in how to get things done.
Your average week will consist a mix of the following activities and use of skills:
Resolver attitude: Right at the center of change supporting the adoption of digitization of Selecta's core processes using telemetry. You provide best-in-class support by applying the required technologies (ticketing tool), processes and engaging effectively with a range of experts. You are the goalkeeper preventing data and system security risks as well as business impact of unwanted system malfunctions. Euipped with an analytical mind and comfortable with database scripting, data structures and integration technologies although not needing to exercise hard core development skills. You have a deep understanding of business processes supported by your applications. Your attention to details is key for successful and timely issue resolution especially when it comes to complex IT interface incidents. Performance of regular interface health checks with the use of available monitoring tools is your regular activity.
360-degree collaboration: Whilst your applications connect systems and devices, you will be connecting people. As such you should be comfortable interacting with business and IT stakeholders about any aspect of the system and business processes. As your role is at Group and Swiss level, you use your natural capacity to understand local culture and collaborate with colleagues and suppliers located in multiple markets (predominantly in Europe). You will be joining a talented team who will provide plenty of support both while you are coming up the learning curve and in navigating the organization. Over time, you will be able to enjoy being able to reciprocate and help people across Europe do their jobs more effectively. In this role, you coach your local counterparts (local application support resources) helping them to improve their performance and increase their autonomy.
Continuous improvement: You constantly improve the support processes and tools by determining improvement areas and implementing the solutions. You transform the issue content and solution into knowledge articles so that the entire organization can benefit.
Supplier & escalation management: You will be a central point for when things go wrong, making sure that the right corrective activities are undertaken in a timely manner by involved parties and learnings are feedback to the process improvement stream. You prioritize the activities according to their business importance and impact on operations. You manage the IT supplier performance daily and apply professional escalations where required.
Professional competence
STEM background, graduate degree or relevant practical experience
3+ years’ experience in application support/management
Experience in the retail/ vending industry and/or any logistics domain is preferred but not essential
Management of various middleware technologies and troubleshooting interfaces
IT issues analysis and solution definition experience
Business Intelligence solution knowledge
Microsoft solutions knowledge and willingness to extend it (SQL and Azure services)
