Role purpose
To manage and execute legal content projects, training and knowledge initiatives for the Group within the context of the Firm's knowledge strategy.
About the Group
Baker McKenzie is one of the world's largest M&A practices. We are one of the most successful cross-border deal teams in the world doing more cross border deals than any other law firm and have topped the emerging market global league tables for the last 14 years. In EMEA, we operate out of 25 countries, with over 200 partners in the Group. Our average disclosable deal size is USD 250 million. Last year, we led on 23 global deals in the USD 1-15 billion range. In addition to a very strong corporate client base we also have a vibrant PE practice working with some of the world’s largest financial sponsors on acquisitions, exits and portfolio company needs.
The EMEA M&A partners and associates meet annually as a Practice Group, and the PE sub-set of those partners and associates also meet once a year. You would be expected to attend these meetings, as well as travel within the region in support of our KM and training initiatives. This is very much a face-to-face role, and not just a drafting role.
The KM strategy for EMEA will dovetail with that of the Group globally. The focus of your role will be on private M&A and PE transactions, but you will be expected to work alongside our Capital Markets Knowledge Lawyers in respect of public M&A.
