The Senior Demand & Supply planning Manager (DSPM), Europe & EMA performs an important and integral role in the continuity of supply to provide finished products at agreed service levels to customers in the Europe & EMA regions, while minimizing finished goods inventory investment and inventory risk at the regional level.


With the newly created business unit of Integrated Diagnostics Solutions, this position will play a pivotal role in driving the success in this new BU. Therefore, the change management component and concrete experience in this area, is a key differentiating aspect we are looking for in the candidates for this role. Driving synergies in terms of process improvements, business added value capabilities and developing effective teams are just some of the key attributes being sought for.



The DSPM represents the Europe & EMA regions at the various Supply Chain leadership venues to ensure that the demand/supply needs for these regions are satisfied.
The BP SCM develops strong working relationships with global planners and influences key production planning decisions as an advocate for the Europe & EMA regions.

The DSPM is accountable for the maintenance of appropriate inventory levels for the regions taking into consideration replenishment requirements in order to meet regional service level requirements. In some cases, he/she may also be responsible for overseeing the development of a supply plan or master production schedule with the respective source/ target Distribution Centers (DC) and ensures timely network supply from various sources to the regional DC.
Next to managing the Supply Chain Demand & Supply, he/she will oversee all Spare Part Supply Chain planning activities across all BU.


Responsibilities:



  • Supply/Demand Planning Management

  • Oversee supply/demand balancing for the regions and variance analysis of actual demand/supply to forecast and budgeted figures

  • Accountable for the demand figures in the Europe & EMA regions indirectly driving the production schedule of global plants, directly affecting the availability  of products to the customers

  • Accountable for the demand planning Process in the Europe & EMA regions for assigned platforms, across countries regionally and indirectly influences the global production plan

  • Responsible for implementing and complying to replenishment system processes in alignment with overall Supply Chain strategies Oversee and ensure that supply issues, whether in relation to production within the regions or outside, are escalated to worldwide level through participation at WW Supply Review or WW Integrated Reconciliation meetings and resolved

  • Manage and oversee, where appropriate, supply planning process for all manufacturing facilities within the regions

  • Supervise resolution of issues related to production planning, capabilities, capacities and product flow in the regions

  • Accountable for regional inventory strategies, including inventory levels, E&O management, ramp up/down, NPI, et al

  • S&OP process facilitation

  • Accountable for leading the Regional Demand/Supply Review for the relevant business unit influencing global production planning for the product

  • Facilitate the Regional Demand/Supply Review and accountable to represent that information in the Regional S&OP meetings,  ensuring timely collection from the regional demand and supply planners and review of the appropriate information required for this forum to accurately determine regional production plan and eliminate any inefficiencies potentially impacting the key metrics

  • Represent the region in the WW Demand/Supply Review, ensuring timely collection and review of the appropriate information required for this forum and jointly make decisions to ultimately determine global production

  • Represent the region in the WW MBR to discuss issues/strategies from a regional planning perspective

  • Business & people performance management

  • Key Supply Chain business partner for the region supporting the regional leadership team

  • Hire, develop and manage a team of supply chain professionals

  • Assist the WW planning function in leading or supporting global initiatives

  • Responsible for the regional key metrics/forecast accuracy to attain the highest level of performance for the assigned product groups and helps in management of cost through achieving those metrics

  • Maintain a strong link to the WW business goals and strategies while also aligning and supporting regional objectives

  • Contribute to the improvement of the “Big 4 Metrics”:

  • line fill rate target

  • inventory value and days on hand target

  • forecast accuracy and bias target

  • % of $ on backorder target

  • Act as a liaison between global supply chain business director(s)  and the manufacturing plants to assist in resolving supply issues


Education


University degree in Business Management, Supply Chain or related field of stud


Experiences



  • Should have over 10 of relevant business experience with 5 years of direct demand, supply and inventory planning experience in a large complex business environment.

  • At least 3 years of previous management experience overseeing planning and inventory management functions.

  • Strong data analytic and statistical experience and skill set. Previous use of forecast accuracy measurements to drive improvement (MAPE, Bias, etc.) 


Required Knowledge and Skills



  • Skilled and capable in the use of SCM and SAP as a tool in developing appropriate inventory levels and net replenishment requirements to achieve targeted inventory and customer service levels

  • Understanding of market served (country, region, global) and its demand volatility affected by market place events such as tender, competitor actions, etc.

  • Understanding of end user customer expectations and requirements. Ability to create groupings from product dependencies and common characteristics

  • Manage and own key master data residing in system and understand the effects on planning models

  • Assist in the SC optimization efforts related to inventory stocking policy

  • Initiate and implement inventory models to determine impact on the performance of the supply chain – cost and service

  • Development of individuals and teams in Supply Chain                                                                                                                     

  • An understanding/integration of Sales and Marketing efforts, for example: product knowledge, new product introductions, product discontinuation, promotional activities, etc.

  • Knowledge of  IT processes and how they affect the supply chain function; Ability to leverage  IT resources effectively to further improve processes and outcomes

  • Knowledge of the 5 step S&OP Process with specific awareness of dependent activities within the S&OP cycle that affect the supply planning manager's functional area and how this area can impact the successful execution of the business strategy through the S&OP process

  • General understanding of production planning, capabilities, capacities and product flow in a manufacturing site
