The Position


Working in Product Development Operations, within our Study Management function we are looking for a Global Studies Leader (GSL) to provide the operational expertise to enable us to deliver our late phase clinical trials (Phases III). You will provide direction and leadership to one or more clinical operations teams and be a key member of the study management team.


Some key responsibilities for a GSL include, but are not limited to the following tasks:



  • Provide direction and leadership to one or more global Study Management Teams (SMTs) to ensure delivery of all cross functional activities in line with the clinical development plan

  • Create and manage study timelines, budget, risk and quality plans

  • Provide direction and oversight of outsourced activities to ensure CRO and vendor delivery against contracted scope of work

  • Identify and contribute to areas of best practice and process improvements

  • Ensure ongoing cross-functional review of study quality, productivity and efficiency; identify efficiencies and raises issues as appropriate

  • Provide study specific mentoring to Global Studies Managers (GSMs) and Global Studies Associates (GSAs) and partner with functional managers to contribute to GSMs and GSAs development needs

  • Strong leadership and motivational skills developed through leading successful multifunctional matrix study teams through all stages of clinical studies

  • Demonstrated consistent achievement of team deliverables against commitments and goals

  • Apply critical thinking and aims to simplify work whilst striving for efficiency

  • Clear understanding and experience applying ICH/GCP

  • Ability to influence, negotiate and manage conflicts

  • Experienced project manager, having led the development and implementation of plans including but not limited to study milestone and risk management plans

  • Proven experience of all aspects of clinical studies including vendor/CRO management, leading/working as part of an HQ development team and coordinating study level activities to deliver data for filing or publication purposes
