Overview


BD carries a wide range of infusion pumps – both syringe and large volume pumps – covering a range of applications from fluid administration, IV pain management, hospital and home parenteral nutrition, blood transfusion to chemotherapy. Pump Sets are the crucial component in ensuring safe delivery of these fluids and medication to the patient, but are ultimately part of a system, which needs to work reliably. Pump sets have to be tailored to the specific application or care areas in terms of features but also comply with latest regulations and safety standards.


The Product Manager is responsible for the tactical and financial performance of the pump set portfolio within the WW Infusion Disposables business. The role includes determining the right product portfolio, the related manufacturing strategy as well as the overall marketing planning to drive continued success of the business.


The candidate will need to work closely with colleagues and organizations across the BD matrix including R&D, QA&RA, manufacturing plants and the regions. In particular, a strong alignment and collaboration with the respective partners from the pump platforms will be key in order to foster a system approach and success in the market place.


Responsibilities



  • Identify market trends, customer needs and segments; conduct competitive assessments

  • Lead product portfolio optimization; drive innovation, new product development and new product launched, including building of product roadmaps

  • Develop and execute worldwide product positioning for key product families, including claims/evidence generation, and global communication strategies

  • Develop and execute strategies to achieve or exceed the business unit objectives for the pump set portfolio worldwide

  • Collaborate with regional marketing leaders to develop and execute regional strategies and annual marketing plans to ensure achievement of financial goals.

  • Effectively partner and collaborate where required with other functions, such as R&D, Clinical and Scientific Affairs, and the respective pump platforms.

Qualifications



  • Bachelor’s degree. MBA preferred

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience [or 3 years with MBA]

  • Marketing experience in healthcare related field preferred (consumer healthcare, medical devices, pharmaceuticals). Specific experience with infusion pumps will be considered as advantage.

  • Very good level of English.

  • 30-50% travel
