swisspeace is a practice-oriented peace research institute. swisspeace contributes to the improvement of conflict prevention and conflict transformation by producing innovative research, shaping discourses on international peace policy, developing and applying new peacebuilding tools and methodologies, supporting and advising other peace actors, as well as by providing and facilitating spaces for analysis, discussion, critical reflection and learning.

To support its Central Services team, swisspeace is looking for an

Intern (60 - 100%

Starting date: 6 January or by agreement
Duration: 6 months (extension possible)
Gross salary per month: CHF 1,500 for bachelor students or bachelor graduates; CHF 2,400 after completion of the master degree

The Central Services at swisspeace ensure smooth operation of finance, human resources, IT and other administrative and logistical processes to enable the thematic programs of swisspeace to work for a more peaceful world.

Your tasks:



  • Assistance in a variety of interesting HR tasks e.g. recruitment, on-boarding and off-boarding, payroll, contract management, obtaining of work permits and more.

  • Maintenance of staff files and diverse process controls and follow-ups.

  • Contribute to the further development and documentation of internal processes.

  • Event support (internal events, external events and trainings).

  • Other administrative support as needed.


Your profile:



  • You are studying business administration or a similar discipline or have just graduated and you are looking for an opportunity to gain work experience in general administration and HR.

  • You enjoy administrative tasks and you are interested in HR.

  • You have excellent Microsoft Office skills and a good command (C1) of English and German.

  • First work experience is a strong asset.
