We are currently looking for 3 new Sourcing Sub-Category Leaders (m/f/x) for Raw Materials and Components:

Chemicals/Polymers, Packaging and Electronic/Metal Components

to join our EMEA Manufacturing & Supply Chain (M&SC) located in Langenthal, Switzerland.

Overall Mission

Metrics to be achieved include optimizing total cost of ownership, developing supplier network strategies to balance cost, quality, delivery and risk, role and reference model for the EMEA sourcing organizations. In addition, the Manager will collaborate with the Business Divisions, Engineering and Lean Six Sigma on the implementation of projects and improvements at suppliers’ sites.

The Sourcing Sub-Category Leader will:

• Work closely with plants to implement sub-category strategies with suppliers & search for solutions within existing/new partners to improve supply flexibility, supply risks & value like e-commerce solutions


• Deliver Year-over-Year cost savings and lead complex projects, as well as initiatives that have a high value and broad implication to the corporation.


• Influence clients, relative to assigned category group, to adopt the integration of sourcing guidelines into business requirements.


• Serve as subject matter expert to the leadership team for assigned area of specialization.


• Manage external suppliers to deliver improved benefits to 3M in areas such as technology, quality, responsiveness, delivery, and cost (TQRDC).


• Perform complex contract negotiations.

Skills & Experience

• 3+ years of experience in international strategic procurement, ideally operational experience


• Knowledge of the referenced markets and companies


• Project Management Skills


• Fluent in English (written and verbal) for negotiations and business communication

Knowledge

• Excellent knowledge of standard PC software (SAP, MS Office)


• Professional Negotiation Techniques


• Experience in working in large, complex matrix organizations

• Can work under pressure and to deadlines


• Self-motivated, flexible, can initiate and manage process improvements

Qualifications

• Bachelor level university or college degree in Business Administration/Economics or Business and Engineering
