As a strategist, communicator, executor and trusted advisor, the Strategic Assistant works under the leadership of and in close collaboration with the Global Head of Novartis Business Assurance and Advisory and Internal Audit (GH NBAA & IA) who is a standing guest at the Executive Committee of Novartis (ECN) and a member of the Senior Management of Novar-tis. You will support the delivery of strategic objectives by working on various initiatives of NBAA (entailing Internal Audit, Global Security and SpeakUp) proactively identifying and re-solving upcoming issues and improving processes to deliver on its mission and goals in a way we can all be proud of.



You will be responsible but not limited to:



Reporting to the Functional Head of R&D and Supply Chain for mentorship and guidance, you will work with the GH NBAA to: Facilitate achievement of NBAA objectives / lead strategic projects

• Handle daily tasks for the GH NBAA & IA upon requests (e.g. briefings), offer strategic advice and guidance as a trusted partner to the Global Head of NBAA & IA

• Work with NBAA and functional LTs, teams and other functions to input on content and align with GH NBAA expectations across all business topics and functions

• Lead process for executing the NBAA strategy incl. aligning/oversight on function-wide priorities and objectives / ensure alignment between NBAA materials and overall corporate strategy

• As part of the Novartis Strategy Community, network with other stakeholders across No-vartis to represent the function and share the function’s strategy, direction and priorities for organizational alignment

• Lead / participate in key NBAA initiatives, projects and events (e.g. Global Meeting) Prepare presentations / communication to enhance impact/branding

• Develop consistent internal and external presentations and briefing reports (e.g. to the ECN, Committees of the Board of Director) with targeted messaging and tone depending on audience to drive impact in collaboration with the Head of NBAA Communications

• In collaboration with Communications drive / support impactful and consistent messaging internally and externally (preparation of speeches, etc.) Support NBAA Office administration

• Management of NBAA / IA LT agenda, protocols and follow-up

• Manage process and submission of materials to Board / ECN Office

• Support development of administrative assistant

Minimum requirements

University degree in relevant area, MBA (preferred) Fluent spoken and written English; additional languages (in particular: German and French) beneficial

• 2-3 years of top tier consulting/advisory and/or Internal Audit experience (required)

• Proven ability to lead complex projects and collaborate within and across cross-functional teams and business units, in a matrixed environment (required)

• Leadership in pharmaceutical, device or healthcare industries with relevant exposure to Internal Audit/risk/compliance functions (preferred)

• Experience in a highly regulated industry with its dynamics, regulatory framework (pre-ferred)

• Ability to question and improve status quo

• Results driven, focused and problem solving

• Effective communication/presentation skills; excellent listener

• Strong analytical skills (qualitative and quantitative aspects) and ability to com-municate business requirements and methodologies (incl. excellent MS Office skills)
