Job Description - ** Must have Emerson DeltaV DCS Software AUTOMATION experience
We are seeking a customer-focused Automation Engineer for our office to successfully support industrial control system projects by applying Emerson DeltaV product knowledge and implementation methodology while creating configurations, documents and custom programming elements.
Carries out complex and varied assignments requiring full knowledge of the field of specialty, and resolves complex problems using independent judgment. Problems usually solved by use of combinations of standard procedures, modifications of standard procedures, or methods developed in previous assignments. Successfully plans and organizes the work of others.
· Works with other engineers to define solutions to unique and complex customer problem (e.g. participates in pre-FEED or FEED).
- Contributes to factory acceptance testing, site acceptance testing, commissioning, and start up.
· Contributes to the process of scope definition
· Primary contributor to the development of engineering processes and procedures. Reviews and approves the work of other engineers.
One or more of the following:
Organizes and directs small teams (2 to 3 people) for a specific area of expertise. Executes complex technical activities for a specific area of expertise.
Job Responsibilities:
· Technical responsibility for automation on control system projects
· Work on a project team with other professionals
· Work with product technologies such as DeltaV, DeltaV SIS, AMS, 3rd Party devices and interfaces, networking, cybersecurity, and instrumentation
· Configure DeltaV control systems from Control Narratives & P&IDs, using IEC 61131 Function Blocks, Structured Text, and Sequential Function Charts
· Plan and execute integration testing and FAT
· Plan and execute SAT, commissioning, and start-up or hot-cutover at customer plant sites
· Utilize and manage the development of Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams, Cause & Effect Diagrams, and instrument databases to perform I/O assignments, generate control system specifications and develop system architectures of varied complexity without assistance.
· Review power and grounding requirements and perform power and heat load calculations.
· Participate in the field survey of existing instrumentation/electrical equipment, instrument wiring, cable/conduit routing, control rooms, rack rooms and any related control systems/electrical items and reconciliation of field survey data.
· Assist with the design of cabinet/panel layout drawings, wiring diagrams, loop diagrams, power/grounding design, and other related control system/electrical drawings
· Assist in the hardware Factory Acceptance Test (FAT) of Control Systems; assist with loop checks in the field, assist with cutover of existing instrumentation to new Control Systems.
· Input and track project schedule and progress
Complete project designs to quality, budget and schedule
· Use industry standards and trends to improve design practices and drive cost reductions and identifies standards requiring revision
