Goals and mission


WayRay is seeking a determined and creative Global PR Manager to join our Zurich-based team. The Global PR Manager will be responsible for defining and implementing WayRay’s global PR strategy across multiple channels. The main target is to increase the awareness and news coverage about WayRay in tech and news media with the focus on the USA, Switzerland, Germany, and China. 


Global PR Manager reports directly to the CEO. The role is based in Zurich and requires traveling.


Main responsibilities and tasks



  • Define the PR strategy to support WayRay’s overall strategy and goals

  • Prepare a detailed budget and sustain it during the budgeting approval process

  • Plan and execute global PR campaigns

  • Manage media relationships and cultivate new relationships with media and influential professionals

  • Track the media coverage and KPIs

  • Report regularly to the CEO

  • Work in alignment with internal stakeholders across marketing, digital, and business development, ensuring excellent performance


Outcomes and expected results



  • Define WayRay’s global PR strategy and budget aligned with the company’s goals for the next year

  • Grow a solid network of media contacts with the focus on tech and automotive media, through nurturing long-lasting direct relationships and gaining more media and influential professionals

  • An average of one publication per month across different media and regions

  • Successfully plan and manage PR for CES 2020: develop the PR kit, pitch to relevant journalists, organize in-person interviews, and report the final results

  • Create and approve a PR plan to establish a personal brand for WayRay Founder & CEO


Requirements



  • 6+ years of PR experience, preferably for technology products or companies

  • Experience in a global/HQ role, with PR responsibilities across different markets and regions

  • Substantial experience in defining and coordinating successful PR campaigns

  • A wide Rolodex of media contacts, ability to work without the support of external agencies

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, experience in developing and editing materials in support of PR activities (such as news releases, pitches, PR plans)

  • Bachelor’s degree in PR/Journalism/Communications or related field

  • Strong attention to details

  • Language proficiency — German or Russian is a plus

  • Willingness to travel
