As the Senior Project Manager – Supply Chain Excellence you will be responsible for the management of complex global projects and programs that have a high impact in the LSI (Lonza Specialty Ingredients) business. Provide insight and structure in the design of the supply chain focusing primarily on the network enhancement, efficiency increase and continuous improvement. Further, collaborate in the development of improvement capability within the organization to guarantee that ongoing improvement goals are achieved.

Key responsibilities:

• Manages and leads global supply chain network optimization projects to exceed LSI business expectations in terms of complexity reduction, efficiency increase and customer satisfaction enhancement; responsible for activities towards optimization of overall supply chain costs, including working capital, warehousing, distribution and transportation.


• Effectively prioritize projects and programs in coordination with internal stakeholders in order to focus in high priority projects that have as objective, generating a mid to long-term impact in the supply chain network and overall LSI business results.


• Collaborates with the value chain and marketing organization to understand the future opportunities and expectations for the supply chain network, ensuring the alignment with the business growth strategies; provides extensive supply chain knowledge and expertise to facilitate the integration of multiple teams across Lonza LSI supply chain such as order fulfillment, customer delivery and supply chain capabilities. 


• Continuously analyses the existing supply chains of LSI to identify improvement areas and potential risks; assesses criticality of such risks and defines mitigation plans to avoid any disruptions; drives awareness of active supply chain issues, clarifying business impact and presenting resolution plans.


• Continuously evaluates total supply chain costs and identifies opportunities that lead to cost reduction or profit increase; provides data driven strategies and rationale to drive effective deliveries to customers from plant or external warehouse storage, optimizing the landed cost and improving On-Time and In-Full performance; creates metrics and tracks the success of the global supply chain network optimization projects.

Key requirements:

• Bachelor's Degree/Master's Degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or related field required, MBA preferred.


• Significant years of related work experience in Procurement and/or Supply Chain


• Experience in strategy development and planning for operations and/or supply chain e.g. footprint optimization, inventory reduction etc. Experience with implementation is preferred


• Project management skills


• Demonstrated understanding of manufacturing, supply chain fundamentals and risk management


• Demonstrated ability to structure, pragmatically scope, and solve abstract and complex problems


• Understanding of ERP systems and Supply Chain processes


• Comfortable working with teams in different geographies and functions


• Extensive knowledge of supply chain best practices


• Team oriented with good interpersonal and relationship building skills.


• Strong interpersonal and influencing skills with a demonstrated ability to motivate people and drive decisions


• Ability to communicate vertically and horizontally through various channels, utilize cross-functional network establish teams in order to complete goals


• Fluent English language skills
