The Global Discovery Chemistry (GDC) is looking for a candidate with a technical background in biochemistry, to join the multidisciplinary Bioreactions Group located in Basel, Switzerland.
As the biochemist in Biocatalysis, you will actively contribute to projects at all stages of the drug discovery process and will work alongside colleagues in Chemistry, Biology and Analytics in an interdisciplinary Environment.
What you’ll bring to the role:
• Drive scientific achievements through hands-on experiments – in molecular biology and biochemistry area to prepare enzymes
• Effectively collaborate with colleagues from other scientific disciplines, e.g. medicinal chemists, analytical scientists etc.
• Foster a culture of high performance, creativity, and teamwork
• Grow knowledge at the forefront of biocatalysis application
Minimum requirements
• Completed apprenticeship in biochemistry or related
• experienced with basic microbiology methods (e.g. plasmid transformation, E. coli cultivation) and biochemistry methods (e.g. spectrophotometric assays)
• Excellent communication skills with ability to create solutions and communicate outcomes and challenges in a multi-disciplinary environment
• Strong team player with demonstrated ability to establish effective collaborative relationships with cross-functional scientific teams
• Familiar with daily conversations in in English (oral and written)
