ICT System engineer (Linux / Container)
The ICT System engineer will work in the IT Services division of the Swatch Group Services, particularly in the Hosting team of the IT Systems & Infrastructure organization. His/her main contacts are the Swatch Group Services SA employees and the Swatch Group IT community, in particular with the IT managers and systems administrators of the different Swatch Group companies.
Swatch Group IT Systems & Infrastructure Hosting team manages existing DC, physical servers & SAP Infrastructure and provides new technologies for Operating Systems and Web Hosting.
Work location Biel/Bienne, Bussigny
Your responsibilities
• Service manager for Linux services (servers hosting, DB services, Web Hosting, Suse for SAP Hana)
• Deputy of the service manager for the Container service
• Evaluate / Compare / Implement new technologies coming in the market, especially in the Linux distributions, monitoring, automation and configuration management areas
• Works on innovations for the continuous improvement of the Linux services & Container
• Bring the technical and architectural competences
• Provide 3rd level support for the IT responsible community
• Evaluate and develop approach to solutions
• Manage partners and suppliers
• Participate to the 24*7 on call service
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
• 3 to 5 years of experience in information technology
• Professional Experience with Linux Operating systems (RedHat, CentOS, Ubuntu, Suse)
• Professional Experience with containers (Kubernetes, Docker)
• Experience with Plesk, MariaDB or Maps is a plus
• Demonstrated initiative, customer orientation and team work competencies
• Ability to communicate technical issues with non-technical people
• Structured, systematic and analytical approach
• This position calls for an autonomous and rigorous troubleshooter
• Project management skills
• Fluent in French is required (spoken and written), as well as excellent knowledge in English
• ITIL
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
• 3 to 5 years of experience in information technology
