The Position
The Roche / GE Healthcare partnership Acute Care Program is developing digital solutions that will enable clinicians to identify deteriorating patients and those at-risk for sepsis sooner. The Acute Care team will leverage GE Healthcare’s “in vivo” and Roche’s “in vitro” expertise and assets (including artificial intelligence, deep learning, commercial, and clinical) towards product development goals.
The team needs a Data Science Lead responsible for developing clinical algorithms and improving product development goals using Roches “in vitro” biomarker solutions and related in scope assets
The advertised position offers:
Responsible for co-developing clinical algorithms with a focus on biomarkers (commercially available and in development) as part of a digital product development program
Leverage data science expertise to shape the project strategy
Works closely with the Acute Care Algo and Clinical teams to develop and validate algorithms
Responsible for applying machine learning and biostatistical approaches towards patient and laboratory data to improve the clinical decision support tools being developed
Supporting the acquirement of internal/external data sets to accelerate clinical algorithm development
As a domain expert, the Data Science Lead will be responsible for presenting the product to customers, users groups, etc.

To be successful in this role (you have to):
Experience in applying advanced machine learning models towards clinical and multi-biomarker data in patient care
Experience in the development of diagnostic solutions with a focus on biomarkers and clinical algorithms
Understanding of critical care in a clinical setting is a plus
Preferably record of contributions to peer-reviewed publications, ability to write and publish data
Ability to work well with varying types of roles and teams (data scientists, clinicians, engineers, marketing, etc.)
Excellent communication and presentation skills
Academic degree in data science, statistics or related fields preferred. PhD is a plus.
Industry experience in an international, matrix environment and ability to work effectively in a complex environment across various teams and cultures
