Position Summary:


The Senior Manager Operations / Site Leader has the overall operations responsibility for the Ecublens site in Switzerland. This includes direct responsibility for the functions of: Operations, Environment Health & Safety (EHS), and Practical Process Improvement (PPI). The role requires leading a diversified manufacturing team and interface with other manufacturing sites. Responsibilities require an intense focus on meeting customer (internal and external) expectations and delivering to financial commitments while fostering a culture of safety, quality, accountability, collaboration and continuous improvement.


Responsibilities:



  • Manage and lead the Operations department and all aspects of the people process including hiring, on-boarding, mentoring, coaching, annual objective setting, performance management and employee development

  • Responsible for resource management and for initiating timely resource planning for the Operations team based on production forecasts and business needs

  • Provide oversight, technical expertise and leadership across all aspects of product manufacturing from raw materials, through warehouse activities, engineering, quality control, manufacturing and operations support

  • Drives and owns “Quality on the Floor” facilitating the desired ‘way of working’, quality culture and the 4i values through actions, coaching and mentoring

  • Proactively drive and react to system trending (e.g. deviations, complaints) to ensure ongoing quality performance.

  • Drive Practical Process Improvements (PPI) and performance by identifying opportunities to improve quality/compliance, reduce cycle time, reduce COGs, and increase operational efficiency. Partner with key stakeholders to prioritize projects aligning with the quality goals and objectives

  • Maintain thorough understanding of international regulatory guidance, ISO, corporate and client requirements pertinent to the site, and to ensure that all work within the Operations department complies with these and with departmental procedures

  • Actively manage both internal and external communications with employees, other levels of management within the company, customers and the community

  • Report Site performance, including scorecard metrics, to all company stakeholders

  • Responsible for site Facilities, EHS and Regulatory Compliance


Qualifications:



  • Bachelor's degree in related discipline and/or equivalent experience. Master’s Degree preferred

  • At least 7 years of progressive manufacturing operations management experience with a solid track record of managing a variety of functions (supply chain, production, logistics, etc.)

  • Lean and/or Six-Sigma Experience

  • Demonstrated results through influence of direct and indirect reporting relationships in a matrixed environment

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills both written and verbal and the ability to facilitate team interactions

  • Strong leadership ability with the capability to leverage diverse resources, respond quickly, understand the impact of changes and decisions, facilitate agreement, build collaborative relationships and focus on customer needs

  • Ability to work with individuals at all levels and within all functions to motivate strong results

  • Practical experience in continuous improvement leadership/methodologies to drive productivity

  • Strong analytical ability including the ability to effectively use data in problem solving and to evaluate process changes and impacts

  • Ability to partner with and influence key stakeholders including HR, Finance, R&D, Product Management and the Commercial team

  • Ability to influence and communicate at all levels in the organization

  • Fluent in French and English

  • Travel up to 25%
