LEAD, GLOBAL PLASTICS ACTION PARTNERSHIP(two-year fixed-term contract) The World Economic Forum, committed to improving the state of the world, is the International Organization for Public-Private Cooperation. The Forum engages the foremost political, business and other leaders of society to shape global, regional and industry agendas. 
Why we are recruiting The Global Plastics Action Partnership (GPAP) is a global public-private delivery mechanism that aims to tackle one of the most difficult and pressing challenges facing the global commons – plastics pollution – in particular the plastic pollution of rivers, deltas and the ocean. By engaging with governments, regional bodies, international organizations and business, as well as innovators and civil society groups, the GPAP seeks to avert the growth in global plastic pollution by 2025. The Forum has catalysed the GPAP through its Platform for Accelerating the Circular Economy (PACE) and in collaboration with the Friends of Ocean Action, whose secretariat is jointly managed by the World Economic Forum and the World Resources Institute. 
Reporting lines and interactions In collaboration with the World Resources Institute and other members of the GPAP, the Forum is seeking to recruit a Lead of the Global Plastics Action Partnership. The role will be based in Geneva within the offices of the World Economic Forum. The position will formally report to the Forum’s Head of the Circular Economy Initiative and in practice be part of the Global Plastics Action Partnership team, whose director will likely be based within a partner organization. 
Breakdown of main responsibilities Programme support – 30%Partner engagement – 30%Grant management – 40% 
The successful candidate will be assessed on 
Programme support• Work with the GPAP Director to support the development of the programme strategy and supporting implementation 
Partner engagement• Lead the development and management of partner engagement strategy, to build the GPAP partnership base, and ensure effective involvement and participation of GPAP partners in the work, with a particular focus on the private sector• Support the planning and management of the GPAP plans and the active participation of GPAP partners in various events and activities 
Grant management• Lead on operations and grant management/reporting to GPAP donors• Lead on preparation of the annual GPAP impact assessment and report 
Preferred requirements and experience • Master’s degree or equivalent in environment and resource management issues, sustainability, environmental economics, finance, economic policy and/or business strategy• A minimum of 5-7 years’ professional experience in a relevant business or not-for-profit organization, including consulting or academia; experience in environment, natural resources, agriculture and the food industry is an asset• Proven understanding of the issue of marine plastic pollution, including in-depth knowledge of global plastics supply chains, impacts of plastics on the environment (particularly the marine environment), waste management, related legislation and the political landscape in which this issue currently sits• Experience in donor grant and programme management• Strong problem solving, analytical and synthesizing skills, and the ability to communicate complex information succinctly• Service-oriented team player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills• Willing to work in a highly demanding environment and ready to juggle multiple priorities• Prepared for extensive travel, including in developing countries• Fluency in English; working knowledge of one or more among French, Spanish and Portuguese would be an asset• Knowledge and experience in costumer relations management, including the use of CRM software like Salesforce, would be an asset
