You will lead the product management to develop state of the art solutions to support the companies key initiative: increase speed and agility of innovation! Our customer benefits from many years of successful company history and is one of the strongest players in the retail market and strongly growing in the food service provider business. Today, they have operations in many European countries and have recently extended businesses into the US. The company is now building up an internal engineering team with the goal to increase the speed and agility of innovation. For this, we are searching a highly motivated and experienced leader to head up product management in the role of:


Product Manager Autonomous Stores 80 – 100% (F/M)


The team of Product Managers advocates for the customers and the business, setting the vision for the future of retail. This company will use data, research, strategy, and empathy to guide the digital roadmap, balancing diverse perspectives and empowering teams to do great work.


The future of retail employs advanced technologies such as computer vision and machine learning to transform the customer experience and dramatically change the cost structure by getting rid of checkout and automating common tasks such as restocking. This company wants to be at the forefront of such developments and wants to move from concept to successful pilot and widespread rollout as fast as technology allows and the business case makes sense. As the Product Manager for Autonomous Stores you will be responsible for making this future happen.


Your key Responsibilities



  • Set the mission, vision, strategy, and goals for our “Autonomous Stores” pillar

  • Own the product process through all phases: from writing specs and creating wireframes, to calculating a business case and defining go-to-market strategy

  • Gather, review, and interpret qualitative & quantitative data to uncover new insights, customer needs and business requirements

  • Represent your projects and priorities inside and outside the company, including to all levels of company leadership

  • Collaborate with engineering, design, legal, marketing and business teams to ship new products, features and projects on time and on budget

  • Anticipate shifts and disruptions in the retail business and steer our business to react in time

  • Ability to quickly absorb technical concepts and communicate them to a non-technical audience

  • Empathy for customers and intuition for developing software that solves their needs

  • Excellent spoken and written communication skills in English and good spoken and written communication skills in German

  • Strong organizational, project management and leadership skills

  • Ability to think outside the box / envision a world different than the status quo


additional Desirable skills and experiences



  • Experience in any of the following programming languages: Java, C/C++, C#, Python

  • Experience in the retail industry

  • Background in a technical field such as computer science, mathematics or similar

  • Experience with wireframing for mobile, web or desktop applications

  • Basic programming or data querying (SQL) knowledge
