Head of R&D

For our headquarters in Liestal, Switzerland, we are currently looking for an experienced and dynamic personality for the position of Head of R&D

The role:

• As a member of the Executive Board you report to the CEO, and have full responsibility for the Nanosurf R&D team consisting of highly qualified scientists and engineers


• Organize R&D projects effectively by selecting the best possible team members for each project and applying adequate development processes


• Together with your team, provide for all projects time and cost plans


• Provide and build a network of technology partners


• Identify key technologies in our field and implement strategies to strengthen them


• Manage the company’s IP portfolio


• Give presentations at international conferences about our new products and applications

The candidate:
As a successful candidate you

• Have previous experience successfully managing a high-tech development team


• Possess strong leadership skills and an ability to motivate an interdisciplinary R&D team


• Have a science or engineering degree, preferably at the PhD level


• Have excellent communication skills in English and preferably also in German


• Have experience working with international teams


• Know how to implement and improve development processes


• Know how to effectively manage external technology and development partners

Preferred candidates will have

• A minimum of 5 years of sound experience with surface analysis techniques, including AFM, SEM, or related technologies


• A minimum of 5 years of instrument development experience in high-tech industry
