Engineer Technical Supplier Manager (mech./chem./elect.)

The department Technical Supplier Management is part of Roche Diagnostics’ Global Operations in Rotkreuz, which is in charge of the delivery of critical healthcare products to people around the world.
As an engineer technical supplier manager (mech./chem./elect.), you are responsible for the availability, quality and cost structure of Roche Diagnostics’ instrument materials through adequate technical management of external suppliers and relevant internal departments.
 
The advertised position contains the following tasks and responsibilities:



  • Ensure a strong supplier relationship management with RDI’s key suppliers

  • Set and support the deployment of lean manufacturing by influencing suppliers to meet improvement goals

  • Ensure continuous improvement of quality, compliance, and availability of materials from RDI’s external suppliers

  • Responsible for the successful implementation of supplier projects such as process changes, manufacturing technology changes, efficiency and quality improvements

  • Align the QMS system of the supplier with the QMS system of RDI

  • Lead internal and external manufacturing transfer projects according to RDI’s divisional standards

  • Responsible for the supplier technical audit process within the supplier evaluation process

  • Responsible for DfX (Design for Manufacturing, Testing, etc.) during product development in close collaboration with internal R&D teams and external suppliers

  • Supports procurement to achieve sustainable cost reductions (cost excellence) by leading continuous systematic cost reduction programs

  • Support the evaluation and business introduction of potential new suppliers



To be successful in this role you fulfill the following criteria:



  • University degree in engineering or related domain 

  • Advanced project management know-how

  • Minimum 6 years of experience in the field of the medical device industry or related

  • Solid technical expertise in the field of metallurgy a/o. manufacturing technologies

  • Proven interpersonal skills to work effectively with all internal and external stakeholders in cross-cultural project teams and across multiple locations

  • A high degree of awareness to product cost and quality

  • Analytical and structured problem-solving skills and strategic and integrated/systemic thinking

  • Eager to learn and introduce new manufacturing technologies

  • Experience in Change Management is a plus

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in German and English

  • Willing to travel up to 10%, workplace is Rotkreuz (Zug)
