About the Business Unit / Team


LPB Procurement: A disciplined approach for optimizing the supply base while ensuring reliable supply, reducing costs and enabling growth


Assure Supply



  • Establish spend and contract database

  • Implement supply agreements

  • Share 12-18 month purchase volume forecasts

  • Align supply agreements with local P2P process

  • Identify supply issues and drive resolution

  • Complete supply risk assessment & execute risk mitigation plans

  • Measure supplier performance (quality and service)


Reduce Cost



  • Develop Sourcing, Supplier, Negotiation and Contracting strategies

  • Secure annual cost reductions and continuous improvement savings

  • Calculate “Should Costs”

  • Expand sourcing upstream

  • Apply commodity forecasting and risk management

  • Extend Payment terms and increase supplier owned inventory

  • Utilize supplier resources (LEAN/Six Sigma)


Enable Growth



  • Implement development agreements

  • Integrate suppliers within early stage development

  • On site supplier resources

  • Execute sourcing strategies in early phase programs

  • Establish supplier alliances or joint ventures

  • Obtain first right of refusal on new technology

  • Lead supplier technical challenges


Project Definition / Tasks



  • Financial – Develop, update, and monitor forecasting

  • NWC -  Develop, update, and monitor NWC report

  • Sourcing Metrics -  Develop, update, and monitor KPI’s

  • Work directly with site procurement for data collection

  • Aid in Preparation of Presentations for upper management

  • Update and maintain category spreadsheets and data monthly

  • Build tool to generate reports and presentations based on category Data


Goals & Desired Outcome ​


The goal of the candidate is to develop the tools for the LPB Global Procurement group to use after the term is over.  The tools needed are in the areas of Forecasting, NWC reporting, and sourcing metrics.

In addition, the candidate may participate in other Procurement led initiatives such as contracting, negotiations, and strategic sourcing development

Candidate Profile



  • Bachelor’s Degree minimum; MBA preferred

  • Preferred area of study: Purchasing, Engineering, Chemistry, Finance / Business

  • Experience: 1-3 yrs of operations experience with 0-2 years in Procurement and/or Finance/Business related field.

  • Computer: Proficient in MS Office, particularly MS Excel, MS Powerpoint, MS Office.  SAP Experience is a plus

  • Other Skills: Project Management, summary recommendation, proper communication and delivery.
