Supports Innovation and Operations Lead. Operates and collaborates across the spectrum of external communications focusing on tools & vendor management and particularly on analytics for Communications.
Monitoring and Analysis
- Support KPIs development, implementation and tracking, and media (traditional and social) analysis, use of dashboards and agency reports to consolidate findings and share insights with the team, revamp of existing reports and alignment between business unit communications and corporate communications
- Develop automation for repeatedly refreshing analysis and generating insights
- Collaborates with globally dispersed internal stakeholders and cross-functional teams to solve critical business problems and deliver successfully on high visibility strategic initiatives
- Support the “Data to Decision” glide path end-to-end transcending all products, brands, areas and functions; Improve rigor, depth, strategic outlook, execution focus and patient thinking into work streams/processes
- Quickly learns the use of tools, data sources and analytical techniques needed to answer a wide range of critical questions for both Communications and the business
- Bring in efficiency with innovative solutions; effective usage of new technologies and concepts; developing new analysis opportunities by integrating existing and new data sources
- Evaluates the need of technology and data software, visualization tools and new approaches to computation to increase efficiency and quality of the Novartis practices
External Communications network, tools and resources management
- Update and maintain CommsSource on a weekly basis
- GEC Sharepoint and OneDrive management
- Media Library management
- Manage and support ExtComms newsflow contributions and PR approval process change, incl. Newsflow tool management, i.e. access rights and campaign tracking
- Manage Service Cloud implementation to replace Media Database by YE 2019, in the meantime refresh journalist profiles and global media list and update Media Database
- Updates the reputation risk tracker on a monthly bases
- Development of 3BL media posts NASDAQ/ West
- SPOC for Multimedia News creation, support Web team with digital asset management
- Maintain and update distribution lists; ensure alignment between media lists for monitoring, analysis and West distribution
- Follow up and liaise with IT / webmaster if technical issues
- Carefully manage agency spending and invoices
Participate in ad-hoc temporary projects or programs within Global External Comms based on business needs
Minimum requirements
Education:
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science/ Bioinformatics/ Statistics/ Economics/ Business Administration/ Business Information Systems or in Life Sciences
Languages:
• Fluent in English (written and spoken)
Experience:
• 3-5 years’ experience as insights manager or project manager in systems effectiveness, data analytics/ science roles, strategic market research or advising roles and/or any related corporate topics
• Proven experience with data visualization tools i.e. Qlik Sense, but also coding software e.g. R, SPSS, Atlas, etc. is a strong plus
• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint
• Strong coordination and analytical skills – ability to think beyond the numbers
• Solid understanding of corporate databases data analysis & research and statistical methods
• Strong communication skills (verbally and in writing) and ability to translate analysis for various stakeholders
• Solid conceptual thinking – ability to analyze large amounts of information and extract insights
• Strong project management skills and ability to manage multiple projects at any given point in time
