The University of Lausanne is a research and higher education institution composed of seven faculties, here approximately 15,000 students and nearly 5,000 professors, researchers and staff work and study. The new interdisciplinary study “SWISS100” aims at investigating vulnerability and resilience in centenarians, bringing together medical, psychiatric, biological, psychological, and sociological perspectives on very old age. Representing a collaboration between the University of Lausanne, University of Geneva, the university hospitals CHUV and HUG, University of Zurich and SUPSI, SWISS100 will lead the first nation-wide centenarian study in Switzerland.
We are looking for a Postdoctoral Researcher SNSF (100%) to be associated at UNIL, ideally starting 1.12.2019
Expected start date: 1.12.2019 (or to be agreed)
Contract length: Maximum 4 years
Activity rate: 100% (to be discussed, mimimum required 80%)
Annual gross salary: Between CHF 82’558 and CHF 92’312 (based on CV)

Job description
The ideal candidate holds a PhD in Psychology or has an equivalent degree, has a strong interest and solid skills in theoretical and empirical research on adult development and aging. Excellent competence in quantitative research (survey, statistical analysis) and eventually qualitative/mixed methods research are required. Multilevel analyses and structural equation modeling are an asset. S/he has very good organizational and inter-personal skills, good scientific communication skills (oral and written), and is fluent in English and French. A working knowledge of German would be a plus. Prior experience and/or interest in interdisciplinary research is essential.

The candidate will benefit from the constant interactions with senior and younger colleagues, and will be able to diversify and increase his/her scientific experience within our interdisciplinary team. The candidate will be located at the University of Lausanne (UNIL), which hosts 14’100 students and nearly 3’800 collaborators, professors, and researchers, and is aiming at excellence in research and teaching. Ideally situated along the Lake of Geneva, near Lausanne’s city center, its campus brings together over 120 nationalities.
Also, the candidate will be part of the NCCR LIVES (www.lives-nccr.ch). The NCCR LIVES aims at better understanding the phenomenon of vulnerability as well as the means to overcome it by adopting a longitudinal and comparative approaches. The scope of the research center is to stimulate interdisciplinary and international scientific publications and exchanges, and particularly to support young scholars.
