Your role:
Do you have an interest in analyzing and monitoring the global holdings of UBS in listed equity and equity derivatives? Do you have a keen eye for detail? Do you have a tenacity for investigations and problem-solving? Are you adept at juggling a variety of demands at the same time? The UBS Group Shareholder Reporting (GSR) team is looking for someone with these qualities to help us to:
discharge the obligations of UBS towards monitoring and reporting of aggregated equity holdings in accordance with legal and regulatory requirements across all Business Divisions in the EMEA region
place and monitor trading restrictions when questions of regulatory ownership limits arise, and to provide trade approvals to business for restricted issuers or for large equity transactions
liaise effectively with UBS staff outside the team, such as Equity traders, Capital Markets teams, Operations, in-house Legal and IT specialists, all while working closely with GSR colleagues in EMEA, America and APAC on a day-to-day basis
perform periodic legal and technical reviews of how UBS monitors for and meets major shareholding requirements across different EMEA jurisdictions
build and maintain strong relationships with Regulators, Exchanges, Issuers of Securities and other stakeholders
propose upgrades/improvements to GSR’s central system for the aggregation and calculation of holdings in equities and equity derivatives, and to test new functionalities once delivered
improve internal controls and enhance the team core processes
Your team:
You’ll be a member of the EMEA Shareholder Reporting team sitting in Group Compliance, Regulatory and Governance and located in Opfikon, Zurich. We are an international team responsible for monitoring, calculating and analyzing global holdings of equity related products of issuers regulated in the EMEA region, for the oversight and control of holdings in sensitive industries, and where appropriate, the reporting of large holdings to the relevant stakeholders, including regulators and issuers.
Your expertise:
You have:
– Bachelor or Master degree, ideally in Economics, Business Administration, Political Science, or Law
– strong MS Excel skills including frequent use of formulas; VBA experience would be an advantage
– knowledge of financial products and/or trade lifecycles; prior Banking or Investment/Fund Management experience is an advantage
– a keen interest in working on compliance topics; experience in working with legal judgements and interpretations would be nice to have, especially in the area of Disclosure of Interest (DOI)
– fluency in English; fluency in German or any other European languages are an advantage.
