Sulzer’s business unit Polymer- and Crystallization Technology has been active for many years in selling plants and components for the processing of polymer foams and particle foams, as well as for polymerization processes, in particular for the polymerization of the biopolymer polylactic acid (PLA). Sulzer develops the plant technology as well as formulations and applications and assists our customers on a global basis when implementing new products. To reinforce and grow the Polymer business further Sulzer is investing in a very versatile pilot plant for PLA and copolymers. Therefore, we are looking for a
R&D Engineer with good background in Chemical Engineering (m/f)
Your tasks
Your profile
This position requires a Master’s Degree in Chemical Engineering, ideally with PhD or equivalent specialization in polymer chemistry. You have experience in designing and operating pilot plants and plant safety. You are interested in working in an R&D environment and are open for hands-on work in the lab and pilot plant. You are well organized and a team-player. You like customer contact and are able to interact effectively with people from different backgrounds and cultures. Fluency in English is required. German skills would be an advantage. The job requires some regional and international travel (10 – 20%).
