NCCR Robotics is recruiting for an Administration & Education Officer


Your mission :

As our NCCR Robotics Administration & Education Officer, you will be assisting NCCR Robotics in its administrative tasks, its activities for “Education & Society” and support the organization and execution of various NCCR Robotics events.
Main duties and responsibilities include :


General Administration for NCCR Robotics







    • Administrative focal point for NCCR Robotics matters

    • Finance: control invoices, credit card management, expenses notes

    • Website infrastructure maintenance and website updates

    • Production of promotional material based on provided content (e.g. leaflets, roll-ups, videos, presentations)

    • Order management, archieving, travel requests, correspondence, “demande de travaux”

    • Editing, formatting, merging and/or managing documents, block documents, document finalization



Education and Society





    • Focal point for Infoscience: enter all NCCR related publications in respective data bases, follow-up with authors

    • Supporting Equal Opportunity activities of NCCR Robotics

    • Supporting the creation and strong integration of the Robotics Master within EPFL

    • Supporting the NCCR Robotics Education and Society committee in its mission

    • All administration in relation to the Master in Robotics

    • All administrative aspects of NCCR Robotics student grant selection & attribution process



Communication





    • Responsibility for the Linkedin, Facebook, Twitter, Youtube channels of the NCCR Robotics; primarly putting content online and follow-up to replies



Support for event organisation

Postdoc in Multifunctional Drone Design


The EPFL Laboratory of Intelligent Systems (Prof. Dario Floreano, lis.epfl.ch) invites applications for a postdoctoral fellowship in drone design. The project will consist in the design and prototyping of multi-functional drones. Applicants should have a PhD in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Aeronautical Engineering, or Robotics and demonstrated realisation of robotic systems.


The position is available immediately. Candidates should send an email to Dario.Floreano@epfl.ch with a CV, cover letter, contact of two references, and full list of publications with copy of 2-3 most representative ones. Postdoc in Evolutionary Computation / Robotics

The project will include modelling and simulation of soft-bodied systems. Applicants should have published in the field of evolutionary computation and have demonstrated programming skills.

PhD in Multi-Modal Aerial Robots


The EPFL Laboratory of Intelligent Systems (Prof. Dario Floreano, lis.epfl.ch) invites applications for several PhD fellowships  in design and prototyping of multimodal and adaptive flying robots. We aim at developing robots that achieve the agility of birds when they fly through narrow passages or land and walk on tree branches. Such robots would be able to fly and reach destinations that no other robot can.


Candidates should have a master degree in fields related to Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or Micro-engineering. Previous exposure to drone design and control is an advantage.
