 While working in
Legal, Business Integrity and Global Security (LIS), you’ll provide assurance that all of your colleagues achieve their goals in a lawful, ethical and secure manner. This could range from counseling on regulatory compliance to supporting strategic transactions and helping the business navigate across the globe. The
Counsel BUCH, TREE and Data Privacy EU is a member of the EU Legal, Business Integrity and Global Security (LIS) team within the Corporate and Legal Affairs (CLA) function, based in Zurich, Switzerland. This role has multiple facets, including:

  • being responsible for legal counsel and guidance to the BUCH (Swiss BU), TREE (Travel Retail and European Exports) businesses within the Central Europe Area of EU, including partnering with the BUCH and TREE

  • providing support to the various functions in the Zurich HQ on Swiss law matters
    being the face of data privacy for the MEU region, both in the context of global or regional projects and on operational matters

  • legal support to regional or multi-jurisdictional advertising and promotional activity, product claims/labelling questions and licensing initiatives

  • co-ordination of legal input on other pan-European initiatives or questions (e.g. in labor & employment).


 


The Counsel BUCH, TREE and Data Privacy EU works under the guidance of the VP & Chief Counsel MU (solid reporting line) and the Chief Counsel Central Europe (dotted reporting line) in various projects in close collaboration with colleagues within and outside CLA, including through participation in CLA's Centers of Expertise (CoEs). In addition, the role entails general support activities for all EU LIS colleagues in Zurich, including for example with internal reporting and with support and co-ordination on various global and regional functional initiatives.


 


Qualifications



  • Bachelor degree (or equivalent) in law from a reputable university

  • Qualified to practise in Switzerland, with minimum 6 years' work experience in a Swiss corporate environment (preferably multi-national) or law firm advising in the commercial field

  • Rich understanding of the requirements of GDPR and practical experience of handling data privacy issues arising in the European environment

  • Excellent drafting and negotiating skills

  • Ability to assimilate complex factual information, analyse risk and distil into clear options/recommendations for business colleagues

  • Creative, agile, solution oriented approach

  • Demonstrated strong team working, relationship management and organisational skills

  • Ability to effectively work and communicate with individuals at many levels and in many disciplines within and outside of Mondelez

  • Ability to work in an efficient, informed and accurate manner

  • Growth mindset

  • Fluent communication both in German and English
