Within the “Experience” arm of Karger Publishers, focused on market development, the


Head of Regional Office, Distributor


& Agent Management (RODAM)


(CEO direct report; Basel, Switzerland)


ensures that our international network successfully executes on our strategic and operational goals for the
Academic&Research and Clinical&Patients markets worldwide.
As our previously pure sales channels transform into strategic bridgeheads for Karger’s entire portfolio
of products and services in the Health Sciences, the Head of RODAM is responsible for the development and
ongoing support of the regional offices, distributors and agents, in close cooperation with other Karger units.
This multifaceted role includes:
Qualification and experience required:



  • Developing Karger’s international network in line • 5–10 years of work experience in a senior sales
    with the corporate strategy and the requirements or administrative/backoffice role in an international
    of the respective territories, including setting up context, preferably in the publishing industry
    new local presences and integrating acquired • Outstanding skills in integrating the needs of
    companies
    various stakeholders

  • Serving as a hub and liaison between the Regional • Talent as an organizer and leadership experience
    Offices and internal Karger units

  • Excellent command of English; German (spoken)

  • Setting and controlling strategic and operational or willingness to learn; further languages (e.g.
    goals for the Regional Offices Spanish, Chinese) would be an advantage

  • Fostering regular communication between the • Very good IT knowledge (MS Office, etc.)
    Regional Offices and the company’s internal units

  • Willingness to relocate to Switzerland (Basel area)

  • Organizing and partially delivering ongoing and to travel internationally (approximately 20
    training to the Regional Offices on products and days a year)

  • Managing the network of distributors and agents
    according to strategic and market needs
