The Head of Key Account is responsible to strategically and operationally lead the Vision Care key account team to reach the sales growth and shares for a defined customer group (currently international key accounts, Swiss and Austrian Vision Care and OTC key accounts and buying groups, internet dealers, pharma retailers and wholesalers).



Develop and implement together with the Vision Care Leadership Team the national and customer specific sales strategies and plans. The Head of Key Account and its team lead the customer relationship and are responsible for the negotiation, promotion, trade advertising. This includes also internal budget and forecasts.



As a member of the Alpine Vision Care leadership team the Head of Key Account actively contributes to the go-to-market strategy, national activities and financial planning.



For this position, we do require good German, French and English language skills.



Major Accountabilities:

• Achievement of overall sales, distribution and share targets

• Development and implementation of sales strategy and individual customer strategies, including private labels, pricing, promotions and investment recommendation

• Manage the team responsible for all key account negotiations (strategy, features, deal) to reach mutually beneficial and sales driving partnerships.

• Establishing an active and close customer relationship to explore and develop growth potentials and reach category captain position with major key accounts

• Anticipates new market trends and communicates customer needs in order to ensure appropriate organisational/structural developments and marketing initiatives

• Actively use marketing and sales force (quarterly SF cycle meetings) to drive sales and activation amongst key accounts (activities, private labels, tailor made promos)

• Continuously optimizes customer investment, ensures to stay within agreed budget by monthly budget forecasting and tracking

• Monitor, analyze and report all relevant market and competitive information in order to maintain comprehensive knowledge of the market which supports business decisions.

• Is obligated to report any complaint (e.g., Adverse Event or Quality complaint) within 24h from the receipt to the ASSA Regulatory Affairs department in accordance to the valid local SOPs.

Minimum requirements

• 3-5 years of sales experience in optical industry or

• 3 years of Key Account experience in consumer/pharma/OTC

• Experience of customer strategy development, annual planning and budget tracking or experience in field force steering and joint business planning

• Strong communication and presentation skills in French and German

• Capability and interest for contact lens technical argumentation

• Ready to travel 20-50%

• German, French and English fluently

• Commercial or science degree, Bachelor or Master degree



Desired:

• Strong IT office skills (Mail, Excel, Word, PowerPoint), wide Internet user experience

• Advanced optical customer understanding (ideally glasses, frames or contact lenses)
