Swiss Paraplegic Research (SPR) is one of the few institutions around the world committed to functioning and rehabilitation research from comprehensive perspective. Its goals are the reintegration and long-term and sustainable improvement of the quality of life of patients with spine disorders or spinal cord injuries. As a subsidiary of the Swiss Paraplegic Foundation, we play a key role in shaping the unique network of services for people with spinal cord injuries.



The Disability Policy and Implementation Research Group conducts research on the content of health and health-related policy designed to optimize participation for persons experiencing disability in all areas of life, learning from the experience of spinal cord injury (SCI). We employ a variety of approaches and methodologies of research – both quantitative and qualitative. We not only research the best policy options, we also seek the most effective ways of implementing those options so that the benefits of sound research can measurably improve people's lives.



We are looking for a researcher to support us in coordinating and completing required tasks in an European Commission funded project called EMPOWER. The objective of EMPOWER is to develop, pilot, and evalu-ate a multi-modal and integrative eHealth platform compiling the most feasible, brief and cost-effective interventions currently available in Europe to promote health and wellbeing, prevent common mental disorders and reduce the impact of mental health problems in the workplace.



The successful applicant will work in a multidisciplinary and international environment on an European project that involve large consortium of researchers from a variety of scientific disciplines and expertizes, representing some of the more renowned research centres in Europe.

Your Verantwortung



  • Tracking project requirements, including deliverable dates and milestones, time planning and scheduling

  • Regular attendance of face-to-face meetings, both at SPF and other locations

  • Support in the development and design of the evaluation of a multi-modal and integrative eHealth platform for persons with common mental disorders in the context of work

  • Preparation of reports, scientific papers and other project requirements


Your Persönlichkeit



  • A Master degree, ideally combining both web science and psychology

  • Doctoral degree is an advantage

  • Experience in development, research and evaluation of digital resources

  • Research experience in specific features of online services designed for vulnerable groups, especially persons with common mental disorders

  • At least 4 or 5 years of international work experience

  • Working knowledge of qualitative methods

  • Basic knowledge of quantitative methods, especially epidemiology

  • Excellent proficiency in English and very good writing skills

  • Willingness to learn new topics and techniques in implementation science

  • Able to work independently and in a team
