As a Supply Chain Specialist you will work within the Supply Chain Management (SCM) Team. In this function you will mainly work in the field of logistics and in addition to that provide support colleagues in purchasing.
Logistics: Around 80% of your time you will work as a Logistic Specialists. This means processing (tendering, evaluating and coordinating) international project forwarding operations including transport operations to and from suppliers. Your range of duties will include to develop and structure project-specific shipping concepts and to prepare and issue all relevant transport documents such as packing lists, certificates of origin, invoices, etc. You will also handle letters of credit. In a project driven environment you will be cooperating with various internal and external interfaces – Project Management, Procurement, Accounting, Engineering and interact with relevant authorities. One of your major responsibilities is to monitor the milestones within the logistics supply chain with regard to the contractual deadlines and financial targets.
Purchasing: Approx. 20% of your time you will be supporting Project Procurement Managers in executing complex plant projects. Your range of duties starts from administrational support (e.g. follow up of purchase orders) to taking over complete work packages including tendering, bid comparison, contracting, order confirmation, follow up including correct and complete required documentation (commercial and technical), invoice control and release within framework of signature guideline.
For this interesting position we are looking for candidates with profound (minimum 10 years) professional experience in exports, preferably in the project business. Experience in purchasing would be an advantage but is not considered to be a mandatory qualification. Active interest and willingness to work over the “borders” of functions is a mandatory requirement. In the field of logistics we expect proficiency in maritime freight, export control topics and complex logistic chains. We require excellent knowledge of the international commercial terms (INCOTERMS), international customs law incl. relevant customs and shipping documents, as well as a very good command of English which you will be able to use in daily contact with forwarders, suppliers and customers. Ideally, you will already be able to work with SAP/R3. An ability to get things done and prioritize as well as flexibility will help you to get started in this position.
