ABB Corporate Research is developing the foundations for the next generation of ABB products in close collaboration with ABB business areas. In Switzerland, the ABB Corporate Research Center, located in Baden-Dättwil in the proximity of Zurich, employs around 200 scientists from more than 30 countries with expertise in various disciplines.
We are looking for an outstanding student of the material sciences, motivated to carry on research on materials for renewable energy applications. Through this internship, the student will contribute in the emerging area of development of permanent magnetic materials, and contribute to our efforts to develop a technology to help us to sustain the world without consuming the Earth.
• Additive manufacturing of magnetic materials.
• Development of advance data algorithms for material optimizations.
• Measurements of the physical properties of the prepared materials.
• Study the relationships between the process parameters and the material characteristics.
• Currently enrolled at an University
• Studies of Physics, Material Science or closely related education.
• Good laboratory practice and independence in work in laboratory.
• Strong knowledge in Data Analytics, Machine Learning (R, and Pythons frameworks)
• Knowledge in laser and material interaction.
• Solid Background Solid State Physics.
• Fluency in English, French or German is considered as a plus.
• Independent work style and initiative.
