We are looking for you to join the School of Engineering, Institute of Polymer Engineering (IKT), from 1st September 2019 in Windisch, Switzerland:Lab Manager (m/f) Polymer AnalyticsYour tasksYour activities include the management, maintenance and expansion of the analytical laboratory, which carries out investigations for both the Institute of Polymer Engineering and the Institute of Polymer Nanotechnology (INKA). You will work on research projects in cooperation with industrial partners and universities, carry out high-level service tasks for our industrial customers as well as develop and implement new analytical methods in the field of polymer analytics. In the educational context, you will support students in traineeships and project work at bachelor and master level. Maintaining and establishing contacts and cooperation with industry and science complement your tasks.Your profileYou have a master’s degree, preferably with a PhD in polymer physics, materials science or a similar subject area and ideally several years of relevant professional experience. You bring a good knowledge in rheology, thermal analysis and spectroscopy (UV-VIS, IR, Raman) to the table and you are interested in many topics in the field of chemistry, analysis and testing of polymer materials such as thermoplastics, thermosets, adhesives, elastomers and coatings as well as their functionalization via additives, nanoparticles and surface chemistry. You are highly self-motivated and have the ability to work independently as well as in a team. You are particularly talented in captivating young technology enthusiasts regarding the basics of polymer analytics in a practice-oriented way. You speak German and are able to communicate in English.
