For our organisation’s Contracting department, we are seeking an individual with initiative and commitment to work as a

Senior Project Engineer (m/f)

for projects involving Industrial Gas and Transport and Storage equipment and processes.

You will be responsible for the successful technical processing of compressor systems, from placement of the order by the customer to commissioning as part of the contractually relevant specifications.

Your area of responsibility will mainly involve supporting the relevant project manager with the technical processing of the compressor equipment and process, with a focus on the following areas:

• Ensuring the functionality of overall equipment with optimisations to the individual components in the framework of the requirements


• Creation of the P&I diagram in accordance with the contractually agreed scope of delivery in collaboration with our Electrical Engineering department


• Equipment design, taking account of the process-related specifications (e.g. defining the pipe sizes)


• Creation of a general arrangement drawing, the foundation plan, and the steel construction and platforms in collaboration with the relevant CAD planner


• Creation and review of accessory specifications in compliance with the applicable rules and project specifications (e.g. lubrication and cooling water systems, pulsation dampeners, heat exchangers, control- and safety valves, separators)


• Technical evaluation of the supplier quotes as well as supporting and monitoring global suppliers of accessory components


• Creation of the equipment control description/operating concept, taking account of process- and safety-related considerations


• Coordinate the project assigned engineering team at Burckhardt Compression AG in Switzerland and in our Global Support Centre in India


• Participation at kick-off, SIL and design review meetings with our customers and suppliers


• Supporting the Sales department in the development of technical offers for new compressor equipment
   

 You have completed a mechanical engineering degree and have several years of in-depth experience as a project engineer in industrial plant engineering and/or mechanical engineering in the international sphere. Ideally, you also have experience in the oil, gas or petrochemical sectors. In addition to PC skills (Word, Excel, SAP, MS Project), very good spoken and written English skills as well as the ability to negotiate confidently in English are essential.

Together with a strong team, you will use your technical skills as well as your independent and analytical method of working to find customer-focused solutions in a challenging environment. Your reliable nature, strong communication skills and ability to negotiate with international customers and suppliers will help you to manage this challenging task, as will your ability to work under pressure, your flexibility and your awareness of quality. Your ability to deal with problems confidently makes it easier for you to achieve your objectives. International travel accounts for approximately 15%.
