Strategic NPI Sourcing Engineering Manager

Key initiatives will be focused around Hardware Development, New Product Introduction (NPI), and Component Selection. The Strategic Procurement Engineer will be responsible also for leading strategic supplier contract negotiations for new products using Microprocessors and flash memories.


In parallel Establish and drive procurement of material and services in alignment with business Leadership for your assigned commodity / category and/or region as per Annual Operating Plan and Strategic Plan. You will have Category/Commodity responsibility for driving competitive commodity and category supply strategies to achieve lowest Total Cost, reduced Working capital via Negotiation planning and execution, High Growth Region Sourcing, Value Engineering and Sole/ Single Source elimination. You will manage Supplier Performance to support your commodity/category and/or region and ensure supply continuity. You will be managing multiple projects in a dynamic global environment. You will ensure compliance with company business policies and procedures, Export /Import regulations.


Principal Responsibilities will include:


Developing and implementing Global Tools & Processes:


· Collaborate with Honeywell business partners to define Preferred Part Lists and technology roadmap for Microprocessors with cross functional teams Support and oversight of Component Engineering and Preferred Part selection activities


· Lead strategic supplier contract negotiations:


o Liaising with Component Commodity Management and Engineering Leadership and Influencing selection of major components and leading technologies in New Product Introductions (NPI).


o Cataloging key negotiation NPI opportunities plus complete component life cycle / risk analysis on major components ensuring compliance with Purchasing Ethics, Corporate Standards, etc.


· Drive and execute Annual and Strategic Plan with supporting strategies


· Right and Fast execution of strategies to align with business Growth and New Product Introductions


· Manage Category and Commodity Strategies including spend analysis, Benchmarking, Cost, Market Analysis and Global Technology / Economic trends


· Ensure Relationship development and management with key Supplier Leaderships


· Build a strong team that creates competitive advantage by recruiting, developing, and retaining top talent ensuring deep bench strength and removing single point of failure


· Align with Sales, Marketing, Technology, Business, Operations, Finance and Quality and Other Honeywell Businesses


· Manage and comply to sourcing processes and performance through an effective management operating system


· People Management providing leadership coaching & development to procurement team includes Commodity Managers, Buyers , Royalty Reporting Analysis


Qualifications:



  • Essential: minimum 5 years experience in Hardware Development, Component Engineering, Field Applications or Product Marketing for Microprocessors


  • Education level and/or relevant experience(s): Engineering degree (BSc or MSc), or Equivalent


  • Significant experience releasing New Products into Production


  • Significant experience with Electrical Design Tools and Processes


  • Six Sigma Certification a plus


  • Experience working with an International team.


  • Self Starter and a Strong Communicator


  • Ability to communicate effectively with people from a wide range of cultures and disciplines.


  • Experience in an International company and in a matrix type organization


  • Ability to concurrently manage multiple tasks and plan activities and schedules
