Global Head Supply Chain Master Data Management

As Pharma Technical (PT) Business Process Owner for Manage Master Data, you will be a technology enabler, responsible for defining, orchestrating and driving critical data initiatives across and beyond PT. In this role you will standardize and continuously improve our master data landscape, through lean master data management processes, and an enforced culture of data ownership and curation.


We look for a servant leader, who is able to inspire and empower an engaged and hardworking team of about 40 people, spread across three locations (Basel, San Francisco and Mississauga). You will drive towards the reliable delivery of timely available and accurate master data, while putting an equivalent effort in coaching your team for personal and professional learning and development.


Confirming master data quality and accuracy is an essential responsibility of this role, where you will have to activate a strong cross-functional network to ensure key requirements are properly captured and reflected in clearly mapped and updated processes.


You will also actively participate in the existing and future Roche initiatives (e.g. IDMP&MDA, Aspire, GDSN) to contribute building an aligned approach and governance on Master Data Management (MDM).


Your main responsibilities will include:



  • Lead the master data management organization, building strong relationships based on trust with all employees and in accordance to the Roche Leadership Principles.

  • Develop and promote the vision and strategy and derive a roadmap for the department. .

  • Handle and improve the data governance framework and operational master data management with a focus on raising data quality, fostering data harmonization and the protection of sensitive data through modifications.

  • Define data governance operational processes (e.g., data quality measurement) in line with policies and standards, clearly articulating roles & responsibilities and establish required frameworks, methodologies, tools, standards and templates.

  • Develop and maintain effective and efficient MDM processes, leveraging SAP solutions as well as in other connected systems.

  • Establish key performance indicators as well as respective target levels and support for internal and external performance review. Monitor processes health and drive continuous improvement initiatives, using KPI dashboards.

  • Keep an open dialogue and permanent exchange with key partners, understanding needs and requirements to drive innovation as well as promoting master data curation as a common responsibility.

  • Play a strategic role in the implementation of priority projects related to centralization opportunities and to the creation of a strong foundation for Supply Chain to fully leverage data driven insights and analytics, carrying out our vision of “Data as our DNA”.


Qualifications


What you’ll bring to this role:



  • Bachelor (Master preferred) in Information Technology, Business Administration or Industrial Engineering

  • 10+ years’ experience in the Master Data Management field, preferably in the pharmaceutical or information services industry, with ideally project management practice

  • Excellent leadership & communication skills, matured in 5+ years’ experience as people manager including leading cross-functional teams, evidenced by a track record of hiring, retaining, developing and motivating high potential candidates in multicultural, multifunctional and remote teams within a global, cross-functional setting.

  • Proficient understanding of SAP ERP / master data support systems and experience in the development of a master data management framework to achieve highest levels of quality, compliance, governance.

  • Strong results-driven leadership style and strong relationship-building skills; can influence, negotiate with and motivate teams and leaders. Passion for collaboration and customer service mentality.

  • Strategic thinking and willingness to challenge status quo. Display and apply financial and business acumen in decision making.

  • Ability to lead teams through transformation, while managing ambiguity and multiple concurrent demands and commitments

  • Effective communication / presentation skills and ability to build constructive relationships with customers, peers and team members on all levels.

  • Ability to communicate clearly and professionally, both orally and in writing in English

  • Lean Six Sigma Practitioner level in continuous improvement methods


Travel Requirements:


International travel will require a significant amount of travel (up to 20%)
