Mission


The Insurance Manager will maintain, manage and optimize the IOC and related entities’ insurance programme including claims management. He/ she would also oversee and support the delivery of the insurance programme for the OCOGs and YOCOGs, including the related TOP Partner supply process.


 


Main responsibilities


Insurance management for the IOC and related entities



  • Lead the management and implementation of IOC and related entities insurance programme and act as the central point of the insurance ecosystem including insurance suppliers, advisors, brokers and TOP Partners (in cooperation with IOC Television & Marketing Services Partner Manager).

  • Manage the procurement of the insurance programmes with the oversight of the IOC management, and in cooperation with TOP Partners and/or brokers.

  • Review, analyse and optimise insurance policies to meet agreed coverage, in line with risk assessment and IOC Finance management.

  • Identify exposure, recommend solutions, implement approved programmes and promote loss prevention.

  • Update and monitor compliance with insurance procedures.

  • Provide insurance due diligence inputs for business and development projects.

  • Provide advice and support to internal departments with respect to relevant contractual needs, including analysing and providing appropriate insurance language and clauses for indemnification, risk transfer and other.

  • Manage the processing of claims and the resolution of organisation claims as required.

  • Consolidate and report quarterly IOC and related entities insurance programs.


Insurance management for the OCOGs/YOCOGs



  • Provide support, guidance and share expertise to the OCOGs/YOCOGs in their insurance programme during the full lifecycle (from bid phase until dissolution).

  • Manage efficiently and effectively the supply framework of the Games insurance programme with the OCOGs/YOCOGs and fulfil the IOC requirements while respecting the relevant TOP Partner rights.

  • Support the finalisation of OCOGs/YOCOGs insurance supply agreements.

  • Coordinate with the OCOGs/YOCOGs the collection and analysis of data on insurance incidents.

  • Organize and oversee insurance workshops and reviews for the OCOGs/YOCOGs programmes.

  • Consolidate and report quarterly OCOGs/YOCOGs insurance supply.

  • Oversee transfer of knowledge from Games to Games.


 


Technical, organisational and personal competences



  • Thorough technical property & casualty insurance management and risk assessment skills.

  • Strong insurance business acumen with solid understanding of the sport industry or key events management (from the organiser’s perspective a plus).

  • Excellent written, verbal communication and interpersonal skills (English/French).

  • Must have proven negotiation and presentation skills and the ability to work with senior management.

  • Analytical skills with a focus on providing forward-looking insight and value-added analysis.

  • Excellent command of corporate tools and compliance with internal usage rules (O365).

  • Ability to work with shifting priorities, demands and timelines.

  • Strong collaboration skills and teamwork.

Education; language and IT competences



  • 3 to 8 years of proven experience and knowledge of insurance and claims management.

  • University degree in business, finance, law or related field is required.

  • Work experience in an international, multi-cultural and multi-lingual environment.

  • An insurance designation, certification or specialisation is mandatory.
