We're offering a permanent position to support our quantitative capabilities within Compliance & Operational Risk Control to enhance the operational risk related modeling capabilities.


We are looking for someone to:


• Enhance the existing operational risk related modelling capabilities and support further improvements on the implemented analytical framework


• Maintain and further enhance the existing analytical platform measuring operational risks


• Work closely with Model Risk Management & Control, Group Internal Audit and external audit to address any analytical questions requiring technical support and analysis


• Work closely with the C&ORC second line of defense teams to leverage qualitative operational risk framework outputs for quantification and analysis purposes


• Establish automated data monitoring procedures to ensure adequacy of model inputs and generated outputs to meet traceability standards for third parties


• Support management to efficiently report on operational risk related exposures and prepare exchange with relevant regulators on quantitative subjects


Your team:


You will be working within Corporate Centre Compliance & Operational Risk Control (C&ORC) function and reporting to the Head of C&ORC Operational Risk Methodology and Analysis in Zürich. This team is primarily responsible for operational risk related regulatory capital activities but also supports stress testing and capital adequacy assessment requirements globally to ensure consistent measurement of the organization's operational risk profile.


The purpose of C&ORC is to ensure that all compliance, conduct and operational risks are understood, owned and managed to the firm's risk appetite. Employees in C&ORC are responsible for providing independent oversight and control over the consequential risks arising from UBS’s business activities at a global, regional, divisional and entity level. C&ORC's primary responsibility, as a control function within UBS, is to perform second Line of Defense activities in relation to consequential risks.


Your expertise:


• A university / Master degree engineering, statistics, mathematics, information technology or econometrics


• Excellence in programming (R or Python), Java is a must including knowledge in Java FX rich GUI client


• Experience working with Eclipse IDE on Java, i.e. GIT and version controlled projects


• Experience in working with large datasets and platform developments


• Ideally with experience within the financial industry, preferably in a risk management, control, audit or compliance related role


• Effective communication skills, both written and spoken


• fluent in English and ideally German


• analytical with excellent judgment and problem-solving skills


• ambitious, motivated to challenge the status quo, reliable and resilient
