Job Description


We are looking for you as our new Pre-Clinical and Translational Research Scientist (m/f/x). As a skilled researcher you will collaborate with internal and external partners, being responsible for pre-clinical research projects related to all pipeline activities, focusing on the biological responses of our core premium and next generation products. In this new role you will be part of our Clinical Operations team. The position is based in Basel, Switzerland and reports to the Head Pre-Clinical&Translational Research. This includes the following main tasks:



  • Ensure robust research project management with internal and external stakeholders, concentrating on the project management phase

  • Dissemination process optimization: Optimization of the dissemination phase to reduce the timeline to publication & setting up a project visibility workflow with the Medical Marketing and Product Management teams

  • Surgical study data optimization: concentrate on identifying and filling gaps in the preclinical study protocols that would result in more robust and applicable datasets for the regulatory affairs department and the new Medical Device Regulation (MDR)


Qualifications



  • University degree (PhD required, preferably in Cell Biology, Biochemistry, Tissue engineering or related fields) and 3+ years of experience in industrial research

  • Experience in industrial R&D (3+ years)

  • Working knowledge of applicable in vivo, bio compatibility, quality & testing norms (ISO 10993, 14000 & 17025)

  • Management of collaboration with external research partners

  • Scientific manuscript preparation and reporting (medical writing)

  • Experience in the application for research grants

  • Very good Project Management skills

  • Fluency in written and spoken English and, preferably, in German, Swedish and/or French as well

  • Strong analytical skills

  • Result orientated team player, quick learner with an innovative personality

  • Excellent communication skills

  • Dynamic and self-motivated person, comfortable working in a not strictly organized, innovative matrix environment, being able to achieve results in a pragmatic way

  • Distinct customer orientation both internally and externally, with a robust track record with various medical device Clinical Research Organizations (CRO)

  • High self-and social-awareness 

  • Strong interpersonal skills and actively cultivates a network of productive relationships in an international environment

  • Highly energetic and pacesetting

  • Displaying personal and professional ethics and ability to embrace Straumann’s Mission and Culture
