Team Head Document Management

You will be managing a global Enterprise Collaboration & Document Management team, responsible for services delivered from this portfolio. As line manager you create and maintain a great team spirit, develop and mentor team members. The Team is focused on project and service delivery with the service mindset approach and embedded innovation.


We deliver Collaboration tools and platforms with the focus on services around Meeting Experience, Individual and Team Productivity, Archiving and non-regulated Document Management. We provide users with a Roche Collaboration Suite and enterprise level innovative solutions enabling new ways of working.


You will be heading a global delivery team reporting to Head of Collaboration, Publishing and Document Management (CP&DM). Your role is to oversee the global portfolio of services with a focus on end user experience and satisfaction and be escalation point for the Service Owners. You coach and mentor your team members and provide workforce plans to ensure that the team is having the skills required both now and in the future.


It is your role to help the team drive the adoption of our solutions and create best services to support our stakeholders and partners. You lead and support a high performing team in a very dynamic and diverse environment.


You are passionate about people, technology and understand customer centered problem solving approach. You will be partnering with Integrated Service Owners (ISO) responsible for setting the strategic direction for the services, to execute services roadmaps and deliver the best end user experience.


You are responsible for managing the related budget and assigned resources with respect to priorities and tasks. Further you ensure that all our IT work processes are executed in a customer and service oriented manner this includes, a spirit of change with passion throughout the Team, goals and development plans are completed, discussed and agreed on-time, effective coaching and mentoring of team members throughout the year is in place, HR processes and People Practices are followed and individual Development Plans for all employees are in place and updated once a year.


Key responsibilities for the position include:



  • Demonstrate best-practice leadership throughout the organization to ensure that the team lives the core values and make sure that Roche IT staff members feel engaged, motivated, mentored and hold opportunities to develop themselves

  • Support emerging and changing business needs through services delivery and ensure delivered solutions are aligned with ISO’s strategies and roadmaps. Understand services landscape and partners with ISOs and architects for strategic direction and technology roadmaps

  • Plan and oversee portfolio of projects related to managed services, oversee and manage elements of the budget for C&DM services and projects and build and maintain partnerships with RGITSC, strategic stakeholder and customers

  • Ensure high­ quality performance and support of managed services, provide coaching to team members and handle escalations requiring a strategic decision and/or operational issues which cannot be resolved by the Service Owners

  • Provide oversight and escalation for adherence to IT standards (including security, privacy, quality and process) and compliance with the requirements of regulatory bodies

  • Work with Service Owners to ensure Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and Operating Level Agreements (OLAs) are established as needed across the overall services portfolio

You have a Bachelor's degree or equivalent in computer science, information technology or business information systems or a related field preferred. You have experience in driving innovation, agile methodologies, customer centric design and working with near- or off-shored service providers for development and operational activities. Further you posses a service oriented mindset with customer focus, a delivery focus with confirmed track of records, vendor management experience to drive new capabilities and the ability to follow up with external teams to drive action items to completion.


For this role, you bring the following qualifications:



  • Experience working in an Agile development environment is highly preferred, as well as Project or Product Management experience

  • Prior experience working with security, legal, data privacy governance of cloud based tools within an enterprise is desirable

  • Passion for technology with the ability to comprehend complex technical and business issues and assess, evaluate and articulate options and solution

  • Product Management/Marketing experience, including weighing and balancing multiple competing requests, is highly preferred

  • Further you have a demonstrable ability to lead cross-functional and virtual teams towards mutual success, and flexibility to work during hours that allow for meetings with colleagues in Europe 2-3 times per week (Up to 25% of travel is required)

  • Fluent in English (speaking and writing)
