The Theodor Kocher Institute at the University of Bern in Switzerland invites applications for a
The research of the successful candidate should complement our current research activities in the fields of
neuroimmunology, cell migration and vascular biology by employing high end microscopy techniques
combined with transgenic mouse technology. We seek a highly motivated scientist with solid hands on
experience in intravital microscopy of the immune system, the vascular system and/or the central nervous
system.
The successful candidate will lead an independent and internationally competitive research group that attracts
external funding and will contibute to our teaching activities at the undergraduate and postgraduate level.
The position is available from January 2019 or as agreed on and is initially limited for 6 years with the option
for a permanent position. Technical support and start-up co-funding will be provided. The Theodor Kocher
Institute (www.tki.unibe.ch) is a member of the Microscopy Imaging Center (www.mic.unibe.ch) of the
University of Bern and offers an international and modern research environment with highly interactive
research groups.
Applications from individuals with an appropriate university degree, a qualified PhD or MD/PhD, at least 2
years of post-doctoral research experience and an internationally visible track record are invited. Eligibility for
the position of DozentIn will depend on the research experience of the applicant.
