Polyphor is a clinical stage biopharmaceutical company based in Allschwil, Switzerland, and is
focused on the discovery and development of antibiotics and other specialty pharma products for
severe or life-threatening diseases. We are currently looking for a:


10065 Senior Scientist / Pharmacologist in Oncology
Responsibilities:



  • Project management of a drug discovery project

  • Design and supervision of in vivo and in vitro studies at CROs and academic partners to
    support project advancement as necessary

  • Establish complex PK/PD/efficacy models to generate supportive data for drug
    combinations and for specific cancer sub-indications

  • Selection of ex vivo assays to broaden the understanding of the MoA in the tumor
    microenvironment, immune surveillance, angiogenesis and tumor growth control

  • Translational science and exploratory biomarker work at clinical sites

  • Management and supervision of preclinical study progress at CROs and academic
    partners. Discussion of study documentation, analysis and interpretation

  • Written and verbal presentation within a multidisciplinary team environment


Qualifications:



  • PhD is required in immunology, oncology, pharmacology or related life sciences

  • A minimum of 10 years industry experience with in vivo models selection and evaluation,
    standardization of models, design of PK/PD studies; hands-on expertise in cancer models
    is a plus

  • Animal handling skills and hands-on in vivo pharmacology skills, including cell line work,
    preparation of test compounds, dosing, blood and tissue collection for PK and PD
    biomarker analysis

  • Experience in preclinical and translational cancer pharmacology and/or pathology

  • Knowledge about marker and pathway assessment, e.g. Nanostring, Simoa, other RNA
    and protein-based technologies and genomic approaches

  • Basic knowledge about clinical operations is required, more is a plus

  • Good scientific and business negotiation skills in discussions with external parties

  • Sound and demonstrated project management skills


We are looking for an independent, self-confident person preferably with a well-established KOL
network in preclinical and translational oncology. The ideal candidate is also used to guide a
multidisciplinary project team and is able to manage timelines and priorities appropriately.


The position will be based in our Allschwil offices. Ideal start would be as soon as possible.
