The AO Foundation is a medically guided, not-for-profit organization led by an international group of surgeons specialized in the treatment of trauma and disorders of the musculoskeletal system. Founded in 1958 by a group of visionary surgeons, today, the AO has a global network of 200,000 health care professionals. Each year it offers over 830 educational events around the world, which are supported by nearly 9,000 faculty and are attended by over 58,000 participants. It has 20,000 surgeon members working in the fields of trauma, spine, craniomaxillofacial (CMF), veterinary, and reconstructive surgery.

AOSpine is an international community of spine surgeons generating, distributing, and exchanging knowledge to advance science and the spine care profession through research, education, and community development. Today, AOSpine has a community of 6,500 members.


We are looking for a highly motivated person to join our team in Davos, Switzerland as:


Global Education Project Manager AOSpine


In this function you will support AOSpine Global Education in further developing the academic community of spine surgeons generating, distributing, and exchanging knowledge to promote excellence in patient care and outcomes.


Your main responsibility will be managing and coordinating the execution of AOSpine content at the AO Davos Courses and global educational projects.


In this role you will be required to:



  • Provide cross-functional project management and execution of AOSpine content at the AO Davos Courses in accordance with AOSpine and AO Foundation organizational policies and guidelines.



  • Manage faculty, event budget and on-site activities.

  • Develop constructive working relationships with AOSpine faculty members, stakeholders, internal and external support, and collaborate with industry partners to gain alignment and support to achieve project objectives.

  • Coordinate the continuing medical education (CME) accreditation process and ensure compliance with the AO Corporate Identity and Sponsorship Guidelines at educational events.

  • Manage AOSpine Global Education projects and support education task forces.

  • Effectively collaborate and communicate with internal and external AO Foundation units, bridging development processes, approaches, and cultures.


In order to master this challenge, you have:



  • A university bachelor's degree, more three years professional experience in a similar position, preferably in the field of adult/medical education or continuing professional development



  • Strong project management, planning, decision making, negotiating and change management skills

  • Excellent relationship building, customer focus and facilitation skills

  • Experience with budget responsibility and preparing financial reports

  • Strong organizational skills, a service-oriented mindset, a solution-oriented attitude, attention to detail and ability to work in a global, multicultural environment

  • Excellent command of written and spoken English. Other languages are an advantage.

  • Flexibility to travel internationally
