Software Quality Assurance Analyst


Responsibilities include:



  • Review product design documentation to ensure that requirements stated are correct, unambiguous, and verifiable

  • Consult with peers to evaluate system interfaces, operational requirements, and performance requirements of overall system

  • Create test plans for new or updated features to determine if the software will perform accurately and reliably according to documented requirements, as well as the established standards under both normal and abnormal conditions

  • Write test cases and script them on the chosen test platform

  • Employ Continuous Improvement methods to ensure robust and thorough testing

  • Maintain effective communication with the QA Developers and QA Engineers to pass project limitations, capabilities, performance requirements, and hardware stack interface changes

  • Execute test plans and create test reports to describe to management clear and thoughtful program evaluation, testing, and correction

  • Monitor testing performance to prevent reoccurrence of program operating problems and ensure efficiency of operation

  • Maintain test tools and methodologies that facilitate data gathering and test method execution

  • Participate in development and test meetings


Minimum Qualification:



  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering; Mathematics; an equivalent technical Degree; or equivalent combination of education and experience

  • Substitute 5 years of experience testing in an independent software vendor (ISV) with CSTE (Certified Software Tester Engineer) credentials

  • Certifications (helpful but not required):

    • Project Management Professional (PMP)

    • Six Sigma (Black Belt)

    • ISTQB (International Software Testing Qualifications Board) – Advanced level

    • SCRUM Master



Preferred Qualification:



  • Previous experience in an ISV (Independent Software Vendor) environment

  • Experience with Lifecycle management tools (Atlasian’s JIRA / Confluence)

  • Experience with testing tools (HP Testing Suite (QC, LoadRunner, Performance Center, UFT)

  • Accustomed to working in an agile environment and with in-company *and* out-sourced technicians across multiple time-zones

  • Experience with test automation

  • Experience working in an IBM mainframe environment either as a programmer or in an operations support role; sufficient to articulate key mainframe concepts

  • Basic knowledge of Linux

  • UI / UX testing experience (browser based)
