Multi-Skilled Technician - Electrical, Fire & Security Systems

Essential Functions



  • In liaison with the Operations Manager to ensure the site is operated in accordance with local legislation.

  • To adhere to the Maintenance Management system in all engineering practices, including planned and reactive tasks, to meet and exceed the expectations and agreed service level agreements.

  • Able to manage and give instructions to sub contractors for your area of responsibility (especially electrical, fire and security systems).

  • Undertake small installation works, repairs to electrical installations and Mechanical plant and equipment Quality Arrangements.

  • Carryout all works in an appropriately health and safety conscious manner following material safety instructions and using, permits to work, risk assessments, method statements where appropriate to do this.

  • Accountable for ensuring that planned maintenance activities are carried out, in compliance with the tasks as set out and Site SOPs, Processes, and any adopted procedures.

  • Maintenance of plant and utilities to ensure appropriate and correct operation, to efficiently and reliably operate within specification while ensuring that records are maintained as required by Operational, Regulatory and Statutory practice.

  • Ensure maximum availability of plant and user equipment through efficient planned maintenance and prompt response to faults

  • Provide technical support for projects and assist with commissioning and hand over works for plant and user equipment.

  • Ensure that all work orders are completed and issued and closed down in full compliance with law and the Equipment Maintenance System.

  • Initiate and receive Permits to Work in accordance with procedure. Be familiar with Lock Out/Tag Out procedures.

  • Where necessary ensure correct control using and monitoring/ interrogation of the BMS including incorporate energy efficiency control strategies.

  • Mark up drawings and documentation to show changes and issue to line manager.

  • Where instructed by your line manager install new equipment.

  • Work with an innovation approach and initiate a review, amend and reschedule PM Work Sheets (Planned Maintenance) where you feel better practices can be made.

  • Collaborate in cross training back up, with others, directed by your line manager.

  • Maintain a clean and safe workspace.

  • To wear personal protective equipment when conditions require or when required to do so by the relevant risk assessment, method statement or mandatory signage


Additional duties and responsibilities:



  • Vision to link customer needs with what can be made technologically/logistically possible – capacity to think broadly about how to improve existing processes by applying new ideas

  • Where required to provide regular reports (Daily, weekly, monthly as required) to your line manager regarding all engineering team activity.

  • Assisting the JLL Engineering Team - skills and performance in conjunction with the site team.

  • Able to work shifts upon request

  • Weekend & Bank holiday working if needed

  • Team player, hard worker, good interpersonal skills, ability to communicate well in both oral and written reports

  • Skilled and physically able to operate electrical hand tools, security and fire systems, work on a ladder, carry tools, lift and carry heavy loads, operate required equipment. Able to work in close places such as closets, crawl spaces, attics, vaults, etc.

  • Subject to call 24 hours per day on a rota and required to work in all weather conditions

  • Able to work in other locations at the request of your management

  • Resolve queries in a timely manner

  • Manage JLL systems and Tools

  • Work with an innovative approach and propose changes when better practices can be implemented

Supervisory Responsibilities


The position has no subordinates.


Working Environment


The role is located in Geneva, working in the Facility Management ES (Engineering Serices). Daily interaction required within the ES team, entire facility management organization, client and as well maintenance vendors.


Minimum Required Certifications, Education and Experience



  • Minimum 5 years experience in Electrical-Mechanical Building Services Maintenance Contracting Environment.

  • Two disciplines of the following:


Electrical



  • C&G2361 Part 1 & 2 or Electro-Technical C&G 2330 and C&G2382-10 (20) 17th Edition BS7671-2008 Electrical Testing

  • C&G2391 Test & Inspection

  • C&G 2377 PAT Testing

  • BTS ou Brevet Federal technicien electricite
     


Mechanical



  • Issuing Permit to Work  (Discipline Dependent)

  • Low Voltage Authorised Persons Course

  • 17th Edition Wiring Regulations (BS7671-2008)

  • BTS ou Brevet Fédéral technicien génie climatique

  • Knowledge of facility management services

  • Strong attention to detail and good organizational, interpersonal skills required;

  • Ability to interact in an international environment

  • Familiar with computer equipment and programs. (Word, excel and outlook)

  • Level of English: Fluent (Written and spoken)

  • Level of French: Fluent (Written and spoken)
