The Mobiliar Lab for Analytics at ETH Zurich is dedicated to investigating and improving human-machine interactions by the means of digital interventions and advanced analytics. It is a joint venture of the Swiss Mobiliar Insurance and ETH Zurich and is part of ETH's Chair of Technology Marketing in the Department of Management, Technology, and Economics (MTEC). The lab is hiring aResearch Assistant Position in Machine Learning and Natural Language Processing (100%)
The research assistant will focus on project aimed at the design and development of machine learning models on text data (among others) in German, which have been collected from past field experiments. The research assistant will start with data quality assessments, extended analytics and preprocessing before tackling the training of machine learning models with Natural Language Processing (NLP) methodologies.
The length of the research project is 6 weeks.
Applicants should have successfully completed (or about to complete) a Master degree in Computer Science, Applied Mathematics or Statistics, Computational Linguistics or a related field combined with experience in machine learning and NLP. They have proven experience in working with Python (incl. Tensorflow, PyTorch or other deep learning libraries) or R. Applicants are fluent in English and with a very good knowledge (or higher) of German. We offer the chance of challenging and responsible work in an young and interdisciplinary team.
