The ETHeart Project is dedicated to the innovation of implantable devices through world-class bioengineering and medical research. Recently established, the ETHeart Consortium is working to advance the state of the art in implant technology.
We are seeking a talented and motivated Postdoctoral Fellow to join the Institute for Mechanical Systems at ETH Zurich and the Chair of Translational Cardiovascular Technologies. The aim of the project will be to develop novel engineering solutions at the interface between implant materials and the hosting tissues. Specifically, the work shall extend our recent breakthroughs in blood pump technology.
You will develop and upscale fabrication protocols to implement rationally developed surface topographies on implant materials, identify and test bionic systems in their interaction with interstitial tissues, and validate candidate solutions in clinically relevant in vitro and in vivo set-ups towards their translation to medical practise.
