Real Estate Regional Investment Manager for Northern-Europe (m/f) 80-100%

    As the Real Estate Regional Investment Manager you will be reporting directly to the Head of Group Real Estate and will work closely together with colleagues of Zurich’s Global Real Estate organization to develop and implement a region-wide RE strategy. In scope are real estate investments for Zurich’s Balance Sheets as well as for our Unit Linked products.  
Your Role  As a
Real Estate Regional Investment Manager you will be responsible for the oversight of the real estate operations of Zurich’s products and portfolios. This position is on the frontline of coordinating and communicating with the local real estate asset management teams and serves as their principal day-to-day contact point. Main responsibilities will involve:  

  • Building up and managing the relationships with Zurich’s investment & distribution teams, understanding their requirements and translating them into investment solutions and products


  • Building and developing new real estate opportunities incorporating an optimal mix of core & value added styles, together with local assets managers (internal and external)

  • Leading and governing the implementation of Zurich’s real estate strategies across the given markets


  • Coordinating the real estate investment activities of the different business units as well as supporting the local teams in order to facilitate the collaboration across teams and thus serve the customers optimally


  • Implementing and overseeing the approval process for real estate investments ensuring compliance to product guidelines, delegated authorities and rigorous underwriting



Your Skills and Experience
   

As a Real Estate Regional Investment Manager your skills and qualifications will ideally include:

 

  • Sound knowledge of the German, Austrian, Benelux, French and Nordic RE markets and RE investment products

  • Master level degree with focus on investments, finance or economics or, in case of Bachelor degree, an additional CFA or similar investment qualification required


  • At least 15 years of relevant industry experience, ideally in an asset management company or a financial institution


  • Working experience in an insurance company an advantage,


  • Extensive specialist knowledge of core & value add style real estate investments, capital markets, investment structures, taxation, legal & regulatory framework


  • Good knowledge and understanding of insurance investment requirements


  • Sound knowledge of IFRS accounting principles and good grasp of local statutory accounting principles


  • High resilience and ability to drive yourself, your team as well as the business


  • A customer oriented  and problem solving attitude is a must


  • Excellent communication skills in English (oral & written), German and any other language of countries in scope are an advantage   


 
Additional Information      

Primary work location is Zurich, Oerlikon. The travel requirement is up to 50%.
