Call for Application - Postdoc Position
at the Swiss Forum for Migration and Population Studies

The Swiss Forum for Migration and Population Studies intends to appoint one postdoc
researcher. Potential candidates must hold a PhD degree in Political Science or Sociology,
and excel in research and knowledge transfer.
The research components of this postdoc is a SNSF project on explaining naturalized citizens’
political engagement. The project wants to explain the political preferences of naturalized
citizens, the drivers to become active participants in left and right wing parties and how they
make sense of their background with regard to the party’s discourses. This will be measured
on the basis of content analysis and biographical interviews. The teaching components may
involve lectures at Master level.

Appointment:
The salary is commensurate with the tariffs applied by the University of Neuchâtel (see
www.unine.ch/srh/salaires-et-assurances). The initial appointment is limited to 1.5 years
and is intended to start December 1, 2019 (or in accordance with a mutual arrangement).
Candidates should have excellent oral and written English and German skills. Working
language at the SFM is French, German; knowledge in these languages and in Italian are an
important asset.
