You will join our European Marketing team for MDS (Medical Delivery Solutions) based in Eysins, Switzerland in this strategic role. You will be instrumental in aligning our value-based and tender-engagement commercial approach internally and externally, working in close cooperation and alignment with relevant BD cross business roles (HEOR, public policy, strategic account management) and internal MDS stakeholders (marketing, clinical, pricing and commercial teams). You will enhance the effectiveness of market development and product platforms performance and further develop the reputation of MDS and BD as a value-added and evidence-based healthcare delivery partner in the region.

Job Description


As our European Market Access Manager, you will ensure adoption and uptake of innovative MDS solutions and growth-drivers within the buying and funding context in Europe by developing and driving implementation of value-based commercial and tender engagement strategies, programs and tools, aimed at key decision and influencing stakeholders in the buying and funding processes for the MDS portfolio. This includes hospital administrators, payer audiences and clinical champions.


Reporting to the European Senior Director of Marketing MDS,  you will ensure that available value (data, claims, proof) are packaged and leveraged in customer centric value based programs and tools and communicated to the right customer groups in a timely way.  You are also championing new opportunities to capture and scale value through new revenue models, ensuring access to and funding of MDS solutions.   


The activities of this role will enhance the effectiveness of market development and product platforms performance and further develop the reputation of MDS and BD as a value added and evidence based healthcare delivery partner in the region.


Other responsibilities include:



  • Building and tailoring business cases and tools catering to decision stakeholders at hospital, regional and national levels depending on the health care systems and opportunities identified, and drive value-based procurement strategies and support to commercial teams

  • Understanding and mapping buying and funding processes for key markets across Europe, including key drivers for payers/budget holders related to the MDS portfolio

  • Adapting/articulating relevant customer value-based propositions for the MDS portfolio, leveraging value dossiers, HEOR models, value-based procurement tools and available evidence and data

  • Training commercial teams on tender shaping strategies and value-based marketing/selling and tools

  • Creating a payer/procurement KOL network or forums in cooperation with relevant internal stakeholders

  • Shape current and future markets by developing, testing/piloting and implementing innovative access models and programs

  • Supporting introduction of new technologies and categories, with focus on value-based components for uptake and growth

  • Defining, monitoring and addressing business indicators related to your field of responsibility


About you


To deliver the results that we are looking for, we need a degree-level educated professional in either business or science (Health economics would be a strong asset), with a strong International or European experience in the Medical Device or Pharmaceutical sector in either market access, marketing or commercial roles in a matrix environment.


You have in-depth knowledge and understanding of the European healthcare and procurement drivers and the healthcare industry in general, with a strong track-record of leveraging value-based models in procurement and funding context (experience in the delivery and/or administration of healthcare would be a strong plus).


Your proven ability to translate market complexities and data into clear strategies and programs as well as your marketing and customer engagement capability and experience will be instrumental to your success in this role. In addition, you have strong commercial awareness and understanding as well as Market development and market shaping experience. Working across the MDS business unit, you will build collaborative relationships within the region and with worldwide teams; your communications and project management capabilities will be paramount to gaining support and commitment from others and drive execution of your strategies and recommendations. In addition, you are results-focused and have a leadership mindset with accountability and willingness to make decisions.


You are perfectly fluent in English; speaking another major European language would an advantage. Finally, you are willing to travel regularly, in and outside of Europe (minimum 20% and up to 40%).
